Is that his real name? If it is, it's a perfect name for him with that hard as ice stare, and a great name for an actor too....

Flint was nicknamed "The Wapping Assassin" at a time when nicknames were not designed to boost tickets sales. I still remember the left hook he flattened Sammy Meck with. And Meck was an iron man.
Jimmy's last fight with Steve "Sammy" Sims saw him flattened himself with a left hook, but only after Sims had soaked up the kind of punches that had accounted for countless others.
Mickey Duff, hardly the most gracious of men, walked over to Sims at the finish and called him the hardest man he'd ever seen.
He knew how hard Jimmy hit.

Don't know if we're thinking of the same programme, but I remember him from a documentary on Channel 4 called Fighters (I think). It also featured Bradley Stone, which made it all the more poignant in the light of what happened to him. In it, Flint was indeed a scary mutha, and I remember him getting really animated about really hurting opponents. Only British boxer who's reminded me of Roberto Duran in terms of real physical intensity and desire to inflict pain and suffering on his opponents.
