The Martinez v Williams KO always sticks out for me. Especially when the camera zooms into his eyes

Hatton was more chilling in my opinion. I always felt Pac would get up and be ok (touch wood) but I was worried for Ricky.

Also (and this is just an assumption) although falling face first looks worse, it might actually be better for you than the back of your head bouncing off the canvas like what happened to Hatton or Gamanche

Really? I was the other way round and was concerned for pacman for a while. I wanted jmm to calm down the celebrations so he wouldn't regret anything

the best 2 live kos I've seen were at york hall the first was mickey hughes v gary jacobs then many years later i was lucky enough to be ringside again when steve omara kod nathan wise 2 best kos I've seen

Yeah, I agree completely. If I hadn't read about the result first, I'd have been really concerned whether Marquez had actually killed him. When Ricky was flat on his back you could see he was out cold, but breathing, but you couldn't see any movement from Manny.

To compound the similarities with the HAtton Ko, you've also got Manny's wife absolutly inconsolable being comforted by friends while JMM runs round the ring celebrating while Manny is still in the land of nod.

Hearns ko of Duran was the most brutal ever for me although that was impressive on sat (well Sunday for most) I'm up for part 5. Great fight to watch, gamboa's fight was great as well.

Marquez on Pacman. I didnt know what the fcuk had gone on and I suspect Im not the only one. He delivered a shot so devastaingly sneaky that alot of observers in real time didnt catch it

It was almost as if someoe had shot him from the cheap seats.

Knockouts where the guy is out before he hits the ground are always brutal, so both as bad as each other I think. With the discussions that we have had about refereeing I thought it was good that in both fights Kenny Bayless got to about 3 or 4 with his count and just waved it off and got the medical assistance in there asap. Whenever a guy is clearly not gonna make it up I do get annoyed when the ref completes the count.

Bayless gave him a shot, it was a huge fight, ive seen guys before who looked like they wouldnt gt up in a month of sundays when they first dropped, but someone at least managed to begin to crawl to their feet. When Hearns hit Duran with that wrecking ball for instance, it was more likely Duran would be in the morgue than get to his feet, but somehow he was up again a few seconds later.


But i know what you mean, some ref's take the piss. The worst i ever seen was Martinez-Williams. The ref actually said "9" when Williams clearly wasn't awake.... did he think h was beating a count between "9" & "10"?

If the ref waves it off rather than completing the count, technically it isn't a KO (!)

It seems some refs can't win - Step in and save someone who clearly is hurt and you're corrupt and on the payroll, count to ten like you're supposed to and you're incompetent.

Who has ever been accused of being corrupt or incompetent for stopping a count when it is clear a guy isn't going to get up?

Marquez / Pacquiao was just violent and came out of nowhere. Ricky's was kind of inevitable.
