Following on from the best talent in Scotland, is this kid the best in Wales?

Has this youngster even dropped a round yet? I think he has bags of ability. We should see more of the lad but he seems to not be getting many outings really.

I think, and i could be wrong - but didn't he also beat Selby and Yafai in the amateurs too?

Craig Evans is a massive talent.. Was talk of him fighting Ronnie Clark but it never happened. Has the skills to go all the way. From what I hear he is going to be fighting at lightweight now not Superfeather?

For me Craig is a very good talent. Has loads of amatur experience mixed in with the fact he has a good trainer. With his style he will always be in a good fight. He will land with a lot of punches but ship a few aswell. He is a talent that's for sure. w

Craig's a genuine prospect. We use the label prospect for anyone with an '0' and under 12 or so fights when really a lot of them are novice pros. Prospects should have the potential to win titles and Craig does, if he didn't get to at least British level then I'm sure he'd agree that he's not fulfilled his potential.

Craig has the substance to match his style, he just needs to be a bit more active, 4 fights in 2013 would be good for him. It seems that almost every young Welsh boxer with talent is compared to Calzaghe but Craig's the only 1 that I've seen similarities in. He reminds me of an early Calzaghe with his temperament, the way he reacts to a shot, his stance and his instincts.

Speaking as a fan, I'd LOVE (!!!!!!!!!!!) to see Evans v Tony Pace for the Welsh title next year, a lot of people will think I'm exaggerating but that's a Fight of the Year candidate!

Liam Williams is the 1 I'm most excited about, as an amateur he's won more Welsh titles than anyone else has. I've seen a ton of him in the gym and he's 1 of the most naturally talented boxers I've watched. Offensively and defensively sound, superb timing of punch and movement, good variation and he can bang with both hands. He's got a scarily strong mentality, I've never seen any fighter go more cold and in the zone than Liam but I have seen him spar some very good fighters and do very well.

There are lots of middleweights to be excited about (Ryder, Eubank Jr - who shared an interesting spar with Williams, Etches, Aston, Cameron ect.) and I think Williams deserves to be right up there with them. Williams has pretty much had the perfect first year, 5 wins against domestic journeymen of a decent level (by that I mean no imported blow aways) and next year I know an 8 rounder is planned for him and depending on how that goes a Welsh title against Lee Churcher, if not him then I could see Paul Samuels getting a call.

A lot of people are Lewis Rees as their one to watch out for in Wales with good reason. On the outside he's a superb counter puncher but he does it on the front foot, he's not a laid back back-foot counter puncher. On the inside he actually really reminds me of Gavin Rees (no relation) and I call his approach controlled chaos, he's in control there like he's in the eye of a storm but it's disorganised chaos for his opponent. I've got to give mention to his right hook too, any head it hits flush almost turns around 360 degrees!

Lewis had 4 years with the GB squad and got a load of titles, I honestly think he would have got a medal in the Commonwealth games if he was picked but Chris Jenkins went and was made captain even though Lewis had beaten him like 25-5 or some crazy scoreline like that... There are plans for Lewis to fight in an 8 rounder then maybe a Welsh title too. I think that plan of progression for Lewis and Liam is the right path to go, they've got the talent to be fast tracked and they do the rounds in the gym against quality guys.

One Welsh title fight that's happening is Nathan King v Tobias Webb in February. Hard to know what King has left, but if it was the King of 4 years ago I'd fancy his chances in this.
