Audley wrote:"Hersisia is durable. He's a tough, rough, come-forward type of fighter, who does everything OK."
He forgot to add:
"...but nothing well." ;)

Audley would have been better going for the vacant Southern Area title against Keith Long. That would have been a better fight. I know Long is promoted by Frankie boy, but surely it could have been arranged to everyone's satisfaction.

U would then say 'oh but Long aint won in ages and he's lost to McCafferty so how is this a step up.' Long hardly throws punches he just hugs his opponents. That aint a challenge, he aint young either.

i also think that Audley has written off the route of taking on the domestic guys to be honest, Sprott, Hide Williams, Long etc I think he is looking more the Euro route so wouldnt be surprised if we dont get to see him in with the present domestic fighters.

Long has just been 12 hard rounds with Bakhtov, and has never been stopped. I feel we would know more about Audley after a fight with Long than after a fight with the unknown Hersisia. Audley has only taken this WBF title fight to have something to brag about before a new Olympic champion is crowned in the summer. What would he have done in four years otherwise?

Yeah went the distance with Bakhtov and was knocked down in his previous fight by a guy now ranked 959 in the 1st round. If Aud fought him and KOd him people would just bring that up. WBF is a sh1t title whos denying that but this guy is a step up and Aud has signalled his intentions to now go for the European title and to do that he has to fight guys in the EBU rankings ie not Keith Long.

Audley is on a duping mission as usual, i had the misfortune to be watching the lottery show on BBC at work the other night and Audley made an appearance to press the button. Billed by Heavyweight presenter Eamonn Holmes as "The best Heavyweight in Britain" Audley informed us that his fight with Hersisia was for a "world title" and against an unbeaten opponent ( which he always seems to be at pains to point out when he talks about the fight), "Let's hope we have a world champion come Sunday morning" Holmes bellowed after Audley pressed the Lotto button, if only he knew

The reality is, Keith long is still signed by allegedly, and Audley doesn't want to deal with allegedly just yet.
I dare say Hersisia is fairly shit, judging by all I read, however, is he worse than Long, I doubt it.
Bakhtov is a country mile below Harrison in terms of ability, and looked ordinary against Keith Long.
I couldn't give a tinkers piss whether Audley faces all the british competition or not, as long as he takes on quality fighters over the next 4 months.
The WBF title is of course a sham, but it's good for drumming up publicity, which is what any fighter would do...
What do you expect Audley to say...
"This belt is just a complete and utter sham, it's not worth a fiddlers fart to be honest, and as soon as I win it, I'm going to throw it in the bin."

Fair point James, your dead right. Instead of venting our anger at Audley we should be banging on the office doors of the WBF! That's if they have any office doors, it seems to me the type of establishment i could run here from my bedroom, same goes for 99% of the other organisations as well.

The thing is though Long is a proven fighter, we know he does the 12 round distance well. His chin is guarenteed ans his performance vs Williams indicates he has power.
Sunny Liston could be better than him (and I hope he is) but he could end up another McKneeley, its pretty much a lose-lose scenario for Harrison.

Keith long doesn't have power, Williams in recent years has been hurt by Sanil Sam (who couldn't even tickle Gomez' whiskers), Bob Mirovic, Michael Sprott and Keith Long, he's clearly not holding a shot these days.
I agree that Long would be a good opponent in some respects, but how does Audley get a fight with him anyhow, he has to go through allegedly surely, and if that's what he is trying to avoid
Don't get me wrong, Hersisia is nothing special, but he's hungrier than Keith Long I think, and has everything to gain and very little to lose in this contest. Should he spring a surprise, he will be in line for some nice paydays...

Could be wrong but didn't Ellis knock out Bakhtov. I'm really disappointed with the Hersisia bout, the guys record is so padded. Hopefully Audley never defends the belt, the only thing I like about this bout is it will allow him to rise up the European rankings.

Whcih is what he needs to do if he is gonna get a shot at the European title, allegedly has said the winner of Sprott v Skelton will fight Krasniqui but surely the EBU will decide not Peter Kohl. I think Audleys next opponent (after Hersisia) will be the likes of Herbie Hide or Samil Sam. Other than that some other boxers above Hersisia in the EBU rankings.

Warren has pretty much annexed the British title which means Harrison is not really in a position to fight for it unless he becomes the mandatory. Barely a week goes by without old Frank slagging off Audley in his paper columns or anywhere else anyone will listen so if I were Harrison I wouldnt want to fight for SN.
Anyway I say its a moot point, Harrison would wipe the floor with any of Warren's heavyweights and that includes Williams. Harrison is a lot more skilful and powerful than sprott. No disrespect to sprott but I think Audley would knock him out pretty quickly, likewise Williams who would go into his shell as soon as Harrison tags him.

It's funny, before the fight even takes place people are getting stuck into Harrison's choice of opponent. I'm certain most on here were saying it was a reasonable choice when announced a month or so ago.

before we had time to know what this guy like other than knowing he was 21-0 with 16 KOs.

We tend to get more bitchy as fight night approaches
