You know what though GG, I remember Jeff Decker from the 1980s, a mixed race lad who
had loads of fights and I am sure fought for a northern area title, was from around Hartlepool but I am buggered if I can find him on boxrec - strange! :witzend:

Boxrec has him down as coming from North Shields/Whitley Bay.

I remember he took on some of the era's finest domestic fighters such as Pat Barrett and Gary Jacobs.
Thanks for that! I thought my mind was playing tricks with age! :TU:

Fight night was generally around the North East of England and when there wasn't any action it was generally Jorge Paez and the Galaxy brothers. Around the south they had Seconds Out. I have most of the Fight Nights on VHS. Still cant get them onto DVD though.

incidentally, the heavyweights featured were John Westgarth, Dave Garside, Michael Murrey, Paul Lister, Glen McCrory, etc

My old dad was a screw and everytime there was action on from the North East (where he worked in one of the local nicks at the time) he'd say "he's a good lad, hope he wins" or "don't like that gobby tw*t, bang him out" etc :) I remember one really tall lad that he liked to see win, think his name was Steve Decker or summat like that?
I remember Oscar de la Hoya vs John John Molina I think I still have it on VHS think it may have sammy Fuentes on undercard also remember James toney vs tim littles on an episode and Pat Barratt on the older 1s too. Also 1 great fight saman sorjaturong vs humberto Gonzalez great fight !!

There were lots of fights from up north, it depended on how long the main event went as the show was only 1 hour long. I remember seeing Neil Malpass, Manny Burgo, Najib Daho There were loads. it was best when the main event only went one round and if the other fights only went a round or 2 you could see several fights

I remember Roy Smith beating Andy Straughn for the British cruiserweight title,
the British super featherweight title merry go round was featured a great deal
as was Horace Notice vs Paul Lister - Lister wasn't bad but was overwhelmed
by the occasion.

Wasn't Joey Jacobs from Manchester, I was always reading about him in the MEN
