Is it? Have you read the book? I haven't and I've no real interest in doing so as Sykes never really interested me. Is the book valuable because it's a rare literary gem that will at least hold it's value for decades to come, or has it halved in value in a fairly short period of time (and will continue to do so) as his name falls into oblivion? I just can't see guys like Lenny McLean, Paul Sykes, and similar being talked about in years to come. I may be wrong.

The book is quite rare only 10,000 copies printed but think of how many have survived. I bought this book back in the 80's I think it was for around 3 quid new. I gave it to a mate who still has it but in very poor condition so worthless.

Ive bought this book around 5 times and sold for no less that 70 quid. The book itself isn't a bad read to be honest, nothing special. But if you want to take a chance on it im sure you could resell for around 70 quid when news on Sykes reamerges. If a film ever made and there is enough material to make a good British movie this book would sell for hundreds, they would do a reprint but the original in good con would be worth a good few hundred.

I have it. It's worth about 30-40 quid.

at this present time it is.

i saw terry spinks's biog in the library a couple of years ago and i should have got it and never handed it back as it is worth a good few quid now. (they just brought out a new edition a few weeks ago)

i do have a 1st edition of "two fists and a fortune" by bruce woodcock which will sell for around £70 - paid a few pence for it years ago in a jumble sale.

i also have "give him to the angels" by james r fair...all about greb...worth a pretty penny.

i bet the sykes book is worth good money - its not the subject matter but the rarity of the item that counts

ive bought and sold Sweet Agony (Paul Sykes) around 5 times and made a killing each time, not sold a copy less than 70 quid.

The Bruce Woodcock book is available for 23 quid on Ebay.

Did you not feel uncomfortable reading the (overly) graphic descriptions of Sykes having sex with a young girl roughly half his age? (and his pathetic justification for it)

It's the rantings of a madman, pure fantasy most of it.

Did enjoy his explanation for the Gardner stoppage; 'my corner were shouting too many instructions at me, so I turned round to tell them to f*ck off and the ref stopped it'

That picture was after Sykes had been set on fire by a bunch of kids in Wakefield centre, think he was in a drunken coma on a park bench at the time!!

Lenny McClean = 'Hardest Man in the Universe' 'Greatest Fighter That Ever Lived' ..... but knocked out twice by Johnny Waldron and outpointed by Middleweight Kevin Paddock (who was substituting for Sykes funnily enough)

I fear great abuse will now come my way, McClean is a big hero with a certain 'type' of boxing fan.

Just watched a few of the Mclean fights. That one with Roy Shaw where he knocked him out of the ring and the 3rd fight. Bloody hell first time ive seen those.

I will have to look for some other stuff to view.

Regarding Paul Sykes books. Its not my fault people wanted them when Paul died. I bought them from places and sold them on Ebay and I never made anyone bid up to £100. Sorry for offending you but that's the way it is.

most books are worthless, ive thrown lots away over the years, most you can pick up from a second hand shop for pennies. There are lots of things that go up in value from time to time and collecters want these, like my 20 years of boxing news that I threw away, regrettably
