Anthony Cacace v Kris Hughes - Early April

This is happening early April in Belfast. Good to see a fighter not afraid to travel to take on what is being a highly touted prospect in Anthony Cacace . Cacace won the best Irish prospect in the Boxing Ireland .com awards from this year.
this is over 10 rounds and could be a British title eliminator, but fair play to both fighters for wanting to make the fight !

Good fight. Cant see Hughes seeing the final bell to be honest but fair play to him for having the balls to go to West Belfast and fight him when others wouldnt fight him in their own backyard.

Ha Ha , Cacace's team must have some faith in him to offer the fight to Hughes ,but will be interesting . it dosent matter if its East Belfast , North Belfast ,south or West Belfast , hughes will be dishing out a boxing lesson!

them are the facts, its not always the case that if you shout the loudest you will be heard.
Think both teams have pulled off a good donestic fight and credit must go to Caccae who really seems to have the right attitude!
As for not having it both ways, more a case of in certain circles you cant win whatever you do Slap!

Your a bright person.. I said the Cacacae camp think they are playing it safe!!! I said I think there may be a shock.. Not sure but that's a difference... Looking at Kris Hughes record just 2(KO).. He is open to get hit Cacacae has decent power so arguably should get him out. Hughes is a better boxer and quicker if he stays away he could win on points... As for many offered.. It wasnt offered to Ronnie Clark.. Seems to be an excuse there that Cacacae camp waiting to get to championship level.. I was at Meadowbank and Al hamidi gave Cacacae some problems. I'm right behind kris Hughes for this one..

Kris Hughes seems to have turned full circle(the wrong way) from prospect to opponent in the last year or so ,is that since he left gilmour ? Was it gilmour he was with?seems to getting flung at the deepend now? I fact Hughes has only beat one fighter with winning record and he was four fight novice , maybe he has to travel to get decent fights?

he wasent with Gilmour previously , . He signed with prospect the end of 2011 and who secured him the fight with Frampton. since then hes had a few injuries but unfortunately is not a ticket seller and last year only seen him fight 3 times .
Prospect did offer this figth to Caccae at first ,however they came in with a better counter offer so it was agreed he would go over there . I wouldn't say hes being put in the deep end, hes had more fights than caccae and we have faith that he can get the victory, and will get paid better for it .
people (some on this forum) are always critical that fighters dont fight the best in their division etc ,but when a fight like this is made you get criticise that your throwing a fighter in etc ... you cant win . But eitherway the fight is a good fight for Hughes as we are looking to get him into title contention in 2013 ,

Defo fair play to badger for taking it , however think you let us no above why he the opponent (he don't sell tickets) hope he wins by the way I want all Scottish boys to do well!
With regards to the frampton fight he shouldn't have took that IMO

Kris was offered a title fight with me and u guys refused it ;) It's not the titles he wants!!! Dodgers boxing is sailing that poor lad down the river!!! I hope he wins of course but Cacace seems a strong lad unlike me :p If Kris Hughes wants sparring he is more than welcome to come up to Dundee... Toby and Tail though uz ain't welcome :)

thinking about the Frampton fight , it was good fight ,and i remember reading somewhere that people were saying the Hughes fight was the first time he (frampton) had stepped up . Making super bantam really started to become difficult at that point ,as much of a cliche it is making it really was counter productive to him ...
But i also see that Truscott is fighting Ben Jones aswell, which is also a good fight for the division. Plus Simpson is out in Feb/March i think (well what i seen on Twitter) so good times ahead

Hughes just took Cacace's gym-mate's 0. I've a feeling they will be out for revenge for that.

Ronnie Clark is trying to make a quick move on things which has to be applauded when other prospects in Scotland at his weight are looking for an easier route up the Ratings and Anthony Cacace has the same mindset by the looks of it, but I think Hughes beats both of them because he's got the experience IMO

Hughes beating caccae is not a definite but he does have a good chance . Speaking to a lot of the irish boys, they really rate caccae and a lot of them see him as there rising start ,so it will be interesting to see how it pans out ...
i dont get your bit about other prospects looking for an easier route when the other scottish laddies are Simpson/Appleby and Hughes (who is fighting someone higher) but as i mentioned earlier it makes intresting division and british wise Truscott is fighting Ben Jones whoch will see some movement in the division aswell ...

Never seen Cacace fight he's yet to be in with a fighter with a winning record. Hughes is a decent boxer a lack of dig has always been a problem. Hope he does well.

Alba Cacace is ranked higher than Ronnie due to Ronnie drawing twice.. The Boxrec rankings are good but looking at previous opponents Ronnie should be ranked above Cacace and Hughes surely you agree with that?? Hughes been in at a good level but been beaten anytime he stepped up at a much lighter weight... I agree with you John Simpson is on paper the best Super Featherweight in Scotland but he isn't a prospect he has been British champion.. I keep saying to you Appleby is moving up so although he's in the rankings he will be fighting at lightweight.. All those Scottish fighter mentioned Ronnie would love to fight for the Scottish title will it happen?? Time will tell.. STOP PROTECTING YOUR 0's
