Back in 2002 he kicked a Jack Russell terrier that was being walked by a couple and their two children. He then proceeded to beat both the woman - she suffered a fractured skull - and man up in front of their kids. I doubt even the BBBC would licence him after that.

He sounds like a complete and utter scumbag.

I guess there thinking was he was 2 years past his sentence ending, and hadn't been in anymore trouble, but people have been refused for a licence with less on their records.

That is disgusting! I front of children & hitting a woman!! There is no excuse for this!

What story did you hear? It's no secret that the justice system is imperfect and people are sometimes found guilty for things they have not done but when you acknowledge you did in fact cause the injuries to the woman and her husband, as Dolan did, you're going to struggle to convince many people that you're not a bit of a loose cannon.

I actually agree with Fat Git.

Reading the newspaper artice - which was based on facts presented at the court - are we now expected to disregard this just because you say that he is a "good friend of yours" and that you heard a "different story" ?

That is total bollocks.

If there is a different story, why didn't he tell the court and save himself from getting sent down ?

I hate Jack Russell's...

It's a familiar story: X commits a vicious act of violence, X's mate says "if you knew him like I do, you'd know he's a really sound fella, wouldn't hurt anyone".

Being seen as a good guy to your friends and family isn't enough. And the fact that there may be "another side" to the story doesn't really help - most people manage to get through life and all it throws up without beating people up in the street.
