Orlando. Lora had lost his title over two years before Gaby KO'd him. Sandoval wasn't that good; Chandler was suffering from cataracts wwhen Sandoval beat him, and Canizales lost that title three months later to Pinango. I don't think either belongs in the HOF, but I think Orlando was better. Also, the Vazquez and Jones fights occurred in another division so have no bearing on ranking the two at bantam. I know of nothing of note Gaby accomplished above bantam.

Orlando was better, but Gaby made me stand up & scream more.

Orlando fought no1 @ 118lbs, whereas Gaby fought almost every1.
Gaby got KOd by Perez and lost a decision in another fight 2 him, Y would not Orlando get KOd by him as well?
He, or at least his handlers knew what I know, so they had him only face bums (except of Vazquez & Jones) and bums only as n IBF paper titlist @ 118.
Gaby>>>>Orlando
The length of the reigns. Canizales immediately lost his title to Pinango. Canizales fought better comp and lost decisively to most of them. I'd put Sandoval on the level of Adams; neither was great, though Sandoval fortunately caught Chandler when he did. Lora was past prime.

Orlando was definitely the better fighter. Like Datsue, I was more of a fan of Gaby.

Yep. I became a fan of the sport near the end of his career, but I loved the Lora fight. Never was much into Orlando, better though he was.

The length of the reigns.
Regardless of whom they fought in order 2 maintain their "reigns", this is how it works in these forums.

I (usually) gladly accept sach rizonings ez yor rizoning 4 de Sandoval vs Chandler outcome, and I may do this time 2, but Sandoval also holds 2 wins over Harold Petty, whom holds 2 wins over Daniel Zaragoza and 1 over Hilario Zapata, naw i ken olredi c/envision yor discrediting of all of these wins

And still younger than "Gaby", which might make 1 wonder about how far removed was "Gaby" from his prime by the time when he KOd Lora.
As Lora didn't win the fight, we aren't discussing the value of a win over Canizales, now are we?

Was a fan of both guys during the 1980s and 90s and saw a lot of their fights. Both could bang, Gaby had more pop. Both had solid chins. Orlando was by far the better boxer and was really good at wearing down opponents with his work rate. Orlando would have outpointed Gaby fairly handily, IMO.

Was Orlando ever down. I know Gaby was against Lora, but I don't think Orlando was. That's how Gaby could win at the top level--he could punch. If you could take his punches (Chandler, Perez, Pinango), you could win pretty easily.

Good question on Orlando. I don't remember seeing him go down, but I wouldn't swear it never happened. Seabrooks could punch and those fights were wars, although they were ultimately one-sided in favor of Canizales. As champion at 118 he didn't fight a lot of big hitters, but at 122 he went the distance with Vasquez and Junior Jones, and both of those guys could put you down for the count.

Sorry; thought you were saying it could've happened against Seabrooks or the other two.
