Some predictions for the new year.

Geale beats Mundine with relative ease after four or so competetive rounds. Mundine retires.
Sturm defeats Soliman, Sam as always puts forth a good effort.
Geale defeats Sturm in a rematch, this time unanimous.
Geale will have a fight scheduled with either Martinez or Golovkin for early 2014.

Green either retires, or rematches Wlod losses and retires.

Katsidis will win a few lower level fights.
Tomlinson will beat some more decent competition, by years end a showdown with Katsidis is signed.

Billy Dib will return to the US and get a biggish fight on a major network, and win

Vic Darchinyan will rematch Christian Mijares, or fight rafael Marquez, and probably retire win loose or draw

Sakio Bika will get a world title shot, or a big fight with someone like Pavlik, or Chavez jnr who will struggle to make the 160lb limit.

The local heavyweight scene will continue to be terrible.

Brad Pitt will beat a top 15 ranked cruiserweight.

Rocky Jerkic will be the hottest prospect in the southern hemisphere.

Thoughts?

I think you'll get a lot more right than wrong

Pitt and Green might be the ones I have most doubt about there.

I think he should probably retire. But with a title in hand it may be tempting for him to go again.

We have no contenders on the world stage since Meehan fell away. But he is still in our top 4 along with Leapai, Haumono and Browne. They are handy. But won't win any major titles. No Aussie heavy ever has.

Exactly why I don't include De Mori in top 4. Tomato can specialist. Never beaten anyone.

When did they fight for world titles 10, 20 years before they fought De Mori? A can is someone that is old and past it. That is what it means

The tomato cans De Mori fights scored their wins when they were younger and still had a pulse. Recent forms is the most relevant and these cans recent form is tragic.

Hard not to mate. What De Mori seems to do is target boxers with good records on paper who are now due to age and wear and tare absolutely shot. The giveaway is their recent form which is very telltale.

actually, kali meehan did win a world title fight, they just didn't give him the belt.

well katsidis is fighting a tune up type fight soon, and Bika is apparently getting a WBC title fight so im doing well so far

Leapai, stamina issues, needs a jab, and better movement, what made Tyson, Tyson was his quick feet, which took away the natural Heavyweights strength's..reach. Leapai takes too many, with the better Heavy's. His power is top 10 in the world, Heart is huge, and is willing to take on all comers, but that won't win you a title.

Haumono, Strength and speed, prototype Heavy, just lacks confidence and conviction, again stamina is his achille's,, still unsure if he will ever take a shot at the title.

Meehan, finished IMO, had all the tools except a chin! still arguably the best, until otherwise proven.

De Mori, i wouldn't say a tomato can basher, but certainly the most cautious of the current heavys, I don't know enough to know how good he is, the Calloway win is nothing to write home about, i would put a win over Welliver in higher regard, given the wear of Calloway at the time. drop the sexy shit, it's rather poofy.

Browne, looks like he is probably the most equiped and has the biggest potential,with massive strength, decent movement and a very articulate heavy with a good brain. He has hatton behind him, which is a good thing. interested to see where he go's.

Heavy's here are big hitters, just not sure they can take a punch, time will tell, but as any world champion Heavy knows, if you don't hit the pavement every day, you are never going to be champion.

Yeah but it's a Chavez,Mundine style title, emetrus champion Ward is the rightful owner, never the less i still think Bika always deserved a title at the weight, given Steiglezt, and other euro trash have been gifted belts for years, magee even can rightfully claim a belt at the weight, now maybe after this he will move to a more suitable weight class, after he smash's this guy. Good for Bika.

Leapai I think will always be a shock and ko fighter. If it goes the distance against qual opponents he won't.

Haumono might have missed his opportunity by waiting too long. But sounds like injuries have taken there toll and stolen time from him fighting more often.

Meehan has had a very good career. But been robbed of opportunities when his ranking should have guaranteed them for him. The best heavy we have produced in a very long time.

De Mori is a tomato can basher.

Browne looks ok. Not sure how his defence will hold up against a qual opponent. Will have to wait til he meets one to find out.

Danny Green to announce retirement in the week Mundine and Geale fight.
Geale beats Mundine,Sturm beats Soliman setting up Geale-Sturm II.
Browne beats Leapai.
Katsidis unfortunately fails under Lewis.
Will Tomlinson challenges for a real title WBC. Unfortunately loses.
Damien Hooper impresses in the ring as a professional and cleans up his act outside of it.
