From the BritishBoxing.net report on last Saturday's Huddersfield bill. He didn't knock Hall out or down but was quite relentless - swarmed all over him. Hard to tell how good he is - I only saw him for a couple of minutes!

That was a bad stopage in my opinion, Lance was not hurt and was disgusted with the refs quick intervention. He had hardly got started before it was over. I know Lance personally and he is far better then that showing would have you believe.

It should be noted that the fights premature stoppage coincided with the scheduled start of the televised portion of the bill

Having said that Anderson is a two handed puncher who likes to come forward, but I don't know if he has had that much experience of southpaws/ awkward counter punchers? He looks a good prospect at this stage but only time will tell.

Ah. No, I wouldn't have complained had it gone on either. I've seen Lance box before and he sticks in there, certainly. He didn't seem to be hurt at all. It was one of those where he was trying to sway out of the way on the ropes and ended up getting caught with a lot more punches than he would have done if he'd pushed off and got on his bike for a bit. Plus, he didn't throw a lot back.

Sorry mate but Lance Hall was totally outclassed when he fought Kevin Anderson. It's alright saying that he "hardly got started" that's because Anderson was all over him like a bad rash. With a bit of luck Anderson will go all the way, with another 4 or 5 fights I would put my house on him beating Too Sleek Kaliq.
And for the record, I think the ref called it right in stopping the Lance Hall fight, Anderson was just getting into his stride and would have gave Hall a hell of a beating and a hell of a K.O.

Can't say I know anything about him, but he definitely sounds like one to keep an eye on.

I've heard very good reports about Anderson and I think you're being harsh on Terrible Terry who is only disputing the Hall stoppage. Nothing sticks in the throat more than a bad stoppage.

I know what your saying Bennie, but I don't think the stoppage was overly premature, sure he could have taken another few punches but is it worth it, why put the lad through it? But one thing I must say though, at least Lance gave it a go, he's obviously a game wee guy.

I would say Anderson and old amateur rival Barry Morrison are the two brightest prospects in Scottish boxing right now. Good bangers.

Totally agree with you there Bennie, Anderson and Morrisson are the brightest prospects in Scottish boxing. Both are good bangers and have a good work rate, but most of all they both have great amatuer experience. Both are exciting fighters, roll on Boys!

Top of the bill, of course, sees Peter Jackson challenge Martytn Bailey for the British Masters middleweight crown.

Elsewhere, Bradford's Donovan Smillie is contemplating a move down to middle for a fight with Roddy Doran for the English middleweight title.

I had thought that Young Muttley was going to the 'Big Show' and would appear on a SN bill next? It will be good to see him at the Town Hall though - cracking venue for boxing.

'The Brummie Bulldog' Terry Adams has his second pro outing on the same bill, and of course Boxrec's own Jacko is the main event. Should be a cracker! Looking forward to it already...

Watched the Kevin Anderson-Lance Hall fight on "Ringside" and could see why the referee jumped in, even though Hall's eyes were clear.
A quick reading of the ending: as the Brummie was forced back to the ropes, he dropped his hands momentarily - almost in a show of bravado, and Anderson jumped on him. Lance was pinned on the ropes, did the right thing in covering up, but before he could really respond to the attack, the referee stepped in.
There's no doubt Hall could have continued, but if you don't punch back, referees will jump in. We all know that. Dropping his hands at the time he did, cost Hall in my opinion. It put him in trouble.
I remember chatting at ringside once to former British welterweight and light-middleweight champion Pat Thomas. The Welshman was a master craftsman and training fighters at the time. I asked him what he felt was the most important thing to pass on to younger fighters.
"To always keep your gloves up," he replied.

He's alright, but he needs to move his head.

I watched Kevin Anderson on Sky, the guy is red-hot! I've saw him a few times and he always fights the same way, give him another year and he'll beat any of the top 3 British fighters, Hare included. The quality of opponant he's had so far has been impressive, really decent Polish and Russian fighters included!
I just watched another Scottish fighter on Sky, Gary Young, he faught another guy without a heart beat! Take a leaf out of Andersons book, by stepping up in class.
