Any info on Frank Hagney boxing in South America (other than the general two lines often quoted) who fought Luis Firpo and Angel Rodriguez approx. 1916-1919? Was he a South American heavyweight champion? Did he help kickstart boxing in South America? Any photos about of Hagney in action?

There was an article on Frank Hagney, aged 83, in an old Boxing Illustrated magazine (December 1967), where he says he became the Heavyweight Champion of South America, by knocking out Jack Murray in Buenos Aires. He also says in the article that he started boxing in Australia in 1905, & when he went to England in 1914 he fought Bombardier Billy Wells, Dick Gilbert & Gunner Moir. None of these fights appear in his record in BoxRec. He also travelled Europe, Central & South America as sparring partner to Jack Johnson, up to the Willard fight in Havana
