The fight being in Detroit might still see a lot of Devon fans, but nowhere near as many as St Louis. They roughly same age and height but experience and home-advantage lies with Devon definitely.

Brook needs a big performance and can expect no favours off the judges. Tough night for him and I really hope he can do the bizz in a dramatic fashion.

Lennox unifying versus Holyfield and then, before that, is it still Lloyd Honeyghan? If so that puts things into perspective a bit about how big an achievement this would be.

Lennox took the IBF and WBA off Holyfield, to complete the set ( Lewis held the WBC )

He also regained the IBF and WBC belts against Rahman in comprehensive fashion.

Neither are American but both were widely regarded as the best (or a close second in the latter's case) in their respective divisions at the time - Haye beating Mormeck in his own backyard is worthy of a mention and Burns beating Martinez, albeit in his own backyard, so to speak.

He did indeed. But before him, is it Honeyghan? Nobody else has done it since then, have they?

Nigel Benn won his first world title in the states (WBO) though.

Incorrect. Collazo held the title. He won the WBA paper belt when Judah was unified champion. But when Judah lost to Baldomir (WBC title on the line only) he was stripped by WBA, therefore upgrading Collazo. Definitely not vacant though.

The WBO isn't a big belt NOW. I don't know who decided the big three were a big four, but the WBO's standards are even lower than the others. Junior title.

Indeed. Another one is Robin Reid who beat Vincenzo Nardiello for the WBC title in Italy. However, neither did it in the 'states' which was the original query raised by JLP.
