They're a law unto themselves most of the time.

I'd rather see reasonable matches and people being active, if that means titles are vacated or whatever, so be it.

I think Ward's slightly transcended titles - The super six has clearly proved him as the best of the bunch, the one thing that it hasn't proved as much is who the clear number 2 is. I guess the Froch/Kessler rematch may well clear that up but again, it's looking likely that it's going to have to transcend titles.

What makes it worse is that the WBC is the best of the bunch.

From the WBC rule book:

"A WBC Champion Emeritus shall also be an Ambassador of Good Will on behalf of the WBC."

I'm sure Andre will be happy about that new role.

All of this is an irrelevance, really. Ward is the legit 168lbs World Champ, and he will stay that way unless he loses, retires or changes weight class. Everybody else (Froch included) is nothing more than a titlist and a contender to his throne.

i would say the IBF are slightly more credible, no interim champs as far as i know and will push a champ to defend against a mandatory most of the time

Point there. Gets sold as a 'title fight' ffs when its just meaningless. when did it stop being good enough to be European titlist or even a world-level contender? now everyone has to be a belt-holder, even though the fans know its bollocks.

International / intercontinental titles were fine in their initial use, and had some meaning as a stepping stone. Now merely added to save a bill and safe refunds.
