Do you take requests? If so, can you report on a bout when both fighters were in shape, without controversy or excuses, and a Mexican lost?

Jorge Lujan's cornerman was giving him what looked like was an ammonia cap under his nose.

Round 6,

The Champion came out winging, but just couldn't find the range. The Challenger landed a good left uppercut and
straight right at the (0:50 Mark).

Alfonso continued to press and wing, but he kept missing. Jorge was patient, and countered nicely with several
sharp left-jabs on Alfonso's right eye, which bothered the Champion.

Alfonso still pressed over the last-minute, and continued to look for the the one neutralizer to end it. He did land
an occassional good shot, but Lujan showed a sturdy chin, and slipped the follow up punches well.

Thru 6 Rounds, Alfonso looked to have a 1-Point edge (58-57) or 3-2-1 in Rounds.
Putting ice on a swollen eye.
Douglas/Tyson, anyone?
:shame:
Lujan was ahead on the cards through 6, I think.

In what could be nominated for Round of the Year.

The Champion comes out for Round 10, sporting 'bad bruises' under both eyes. The Challenger comes out
looking cool and confident.

Jorge Lujan opens by boxing, and using his intelligence, and left jab and move style. Jorge keeps his right hand
high by his chin, to protect from getting cocked by Alfonso's left hook bombs.

Alfonso left jabs, and charges forward winging a right-hook, but misses badly and falls to the canvas at the (0:17 Mark).

Lujan goes to back to boxing and at the (0:22 Mark), scores with a nice left jab, and right hand to the side of Zamora's head.

The fight goes to center-ring, and the fighters exchange light punches. Then Zamora attacks and forces Lujan back into
the ropes. Zamora then unloads a vicious left-right-left at the (0:49 Mark), and the second left hook nails Lujan flush on the chin.

Lujan is driven into the Champion's corner, and at the (0:55 Mark) Zamora unloads a wild 9-punch flurry, as the Sports Arena crowd erupts.

Suddenly, at the (1:02 Mark), the Challenger fires back, and lands 'two' sharp left-hands, and a stinging straight right-hand to the Champion's chin.

The right hand hurts Zamora, and he backs off to center-ring, where he looks completely exhausted.

The Challenger then presses, and measures the Champion for a hard counter. Lujan forces Zamora to the ropes, and then
across the ring into a neutral-corner by landing stiff punches.

At the (1:28 Mark) Jorge pins the Champion into the near neutral-corner, and fires quick straight punches on the fading Zamora.

Then at the (1:40 Mark), the Champion lands a good left hook while fighting out the neutral-corner, that forces Lujan off of him.

Zamora lands a good two-punch combination which backs the Challenger off. Then at the (1:47 Mark), Zamora lands a tremendous
left hook that snaps Lujan's head back and knocks him back on his heel's and into the ropes. That left hook would have knocked
out most normal Bantamweights.

Zamora attacks with everything he has, and drives Lujan to his left and along the next section of ropes, and then Zamora
lands a big right hand at the (1:58 Mark) flush on Lujan's jaw, which chases Lujan to his left again and to the next section
of ropes.

There the two fighters slug it out, and Zamora gets the better of of it when he lands a hard overhand right to Jorge's
jaw at the (2:03 Mark). The punch dislodges Jorge's mouthpiece, and drives him back into the far 'neutral-corner'.
Jorge is momentarily stunned.

There, Zamora lets it all-out, and pounds away with everything he's got. But the Challenger takes everything the Champion
can dish out, and starts to counter back at the (2:12 Mark). Jorge thens lands 'three' good chopping rights over Zamora's
low guard, and the Champion is stunned.

Zamora backs up, and at center-ring, Jorge lands a hard short left uppercut, and big right hand at the (2:18 Mark).

Both fighters exchanges punches at center-ring, but Jorge gets the better of it. Then at the (2:40 Mark), the Challenger
lands a hard right hand to the chin over Zamora's low guard. The Champion stumbles backwards into the near
neutral-corner, and then falls to a sitting position completely exhausted.

Referee - John Thomas counts the Champion out at 2:50 of Round 10.

This bout was postponed 1-week, so Alfonso could get down to the 118 lb. weight limit.

It was originally scheduled for November 12, 1977, but Fight Promoter - Danny Villanueva
(MagnaVerde Promotions) announced on October 30th, that the bout was re-scheduled to
November 19, 1977 to give the Champion an additional week to prepare.

But, Alfonso did fight hard, and threw bombs in every round in an attempt to take the tough
Panamanian - Jorge Lujan out.

Alfonso landed some tremendous bombs on Jorge, that would have felled most any other Bantamweight,
but the Panamanian had a tremdous chin.

Did the battering at the hands of Carlos Zarate (April 1977) or the long lay-off (7-months) affect Alfonso,
or was Jorge Lujan much better than anyone had thought in November 1977.
This sounds kind of like Hong II except with proper reffing.
