if this was to be the return of ppv , what fights do you believe need to be included to make it justifiable, taking into consideration alot of matchroom boxers are in big fights in the coming months...

For PPV status I think you'd need two very solid title fights at domestic/continental level underneath the main event.

Frampton-Quigg for British, Commonwealth and European titles would be a fantastic chief support, maybe with Ryder-Saunders for the British as the third (realistic fights for Matchroom to pull off).

I'd rule Bellew out as he fighting at the end of March.

If Brook wins his next fight then he is too big to be supporting - if he loses then he'd be an option. Same applies to Rees.

Darren Barker in a title eliminator is another possibility, depending on who he fights next.

I disagree but most will probably agree with you. I personally don't see why a PPV card shouldn't have more than one world title fight on it. Look at Mayweather's last fight, for instance. Canelo was the chief support: Mayweather is way bigger than Froch. Cotto is way big than Kessler. Canelo is way bigger than Brook. Mosely is way bigger than anyone they could bring in to face Brook (other than Khan).

I cant decide if the fact its the same night as the champions league final would play into the hands of PPV or steer away from it.

Fully agree. I remember some of the old Don King bills used to have multiple world title fights on them. Bills nowadays are a complete joke. For the really big fights there is at most 1 other big fight on the card and most just don't bother at all as promotors want to maximise revenues by not showcasing stars together. It makes for poor value shows when people are often spending hundreds of quid a time for decent seats.

Mmmmm, I think you should factor in that they are US PPVs rather than UK PPVs, and should be treated as different animals, but I do largely agree with your points. I was just being realistic - I cannot see Matchroom putting on 2 world title fights on the same card - hope I'm proven wrong.

If you look back at the recent SBO PPVs in UK - they have essentially been one big fight with nothing else - not saying that is right but it is the facts. Therefore, if this was hypothetically on SBO and we were given Froch-Kessler, Quigg-Frampton and Saunders-Ryder (for example), I'd probably be quite satisfied.

This is all irrelevant anyway because it's not going to be on SBO - it will be on SS1 - and people should be over the moon about that!

Is it def. the same night? If so it's great from my point of view, as I plan to go to the fight. The UCL final on the telly followed by a great night of boxing = a top night out. The final is at Wembley as well, so London will be rocking that day/night.

From a ppv point-of-view, it could work. Sky could plug the hell out of the fight during the UCL final programme ,and people could watch both down the pub.

That said, I would be surprised and disappointed if Sky go back down the ppv route.
