Advice!
I currently train in Muay Thai (for over a year now at intermediate level), had some inter clubs etc and want to make the transition into boxing. I'm 26 now and realise that I my be too old to start in the amateurs and then go pro.
Would starting off in the unlicensed scene be a good start I.e. European Boxing Fed, British Boxing Union etc getting some bouts under belt and when ready apply for BBBofC license?
Bit of a dream I know but something that I've wanted to pursue for a while,
Any feedback would be great!!

From a position of near ignorance... I would say set yourself up an unlicensed fight and see if you like getting punched for money as opposed to for pride's sake... can always go pro after, or stay unlicensed if you like the money.

Perhaps try out a few amateur fights and see how you get on? Main thing is you are matched correctly. Make sure whoever is matching you knows you have limited experience. Good luck and please let us know how you get on!

This, have some am. fights to get some ring experience, learn to handle the nerves etc. in the lead up to a fight, get experience in the ring and become acustommed to being punched regularly by someone you don't know who wants to hurt you and the pressure of a fight.

No big steps made yet, got information from my local secretary of the bbbofc, starting point and that, training for upcoming white collar bouts and hoping to gain some semi pro bouts to get loads of ring experience so i have something to on me cv when i go in front of the bbbofc board,
the queensbury boxing league looks ok to go for already talking to them etc, independent governing body, they've told me a pro licence is not required to fight for them, but that's down the Line,
How bout yerself?
