What does everyone think of his opponent tonight? He's not great I know, but after he's been off a while is Hastings Rasani a good enough opponent, or does he want somebody durable to shake off the ring rust? Or is the best way to shake off ring rust going for a few easy knockouts in quick succession?

I think the most likely outcome is another quick blowout for the exciting Haye. I would rather see him fight someone like Paul Bonson or Lee Swaby.

I think it is quite a popular opinion that Bonson would be a good opponent. I think he should have a couple of fights to get the ring rust out, then fight Swaby. But I think his next fight should be in as quick a time as possible.

I WILL BE SUPRISED IF HASTINGS RASANI GETS PAST THE 4TH ROUND.

Haye was really keen to fight tonight, otherwise he'd have to wait until May, that would be half a year of no ring activity. Even though he realises that this isn't going to be much of a test (it's a huge mismatch on paper) he was still prepared to personally pay Rasani to come over, just so he can get some sort of action.

i'm getting tired of watching these Haye blowouts. It's been said before, but he needs rounds. He was rushing his man tonight with wild swings.

I was very surprised that Rasani carried on after the first right hand, i seem to remember he folded instantly when carl the cat landed his big shot against him.

i don't know what it is, but i'm not as excited about Haye's prospects these days. maybe its because we all suspect he's a little frail in the chin.

Gotta re-iterate Riddicks point, why did Haye come out of his corner swinging for the fences? What has that proven against a career Light Heavy?

Absolutely nothing.

He should have looked to pick him apart, using feints and subtle movements he has been working on in the gym, rather then attempting to blow him away with his extra weight/strength.

Haye is an excellent prospect and is doing his learning in the gym, I suppose, but I would like to see it demonstrated come fight night.

Yes he defintely needs to go some rounds, like Froch did last time out.
Clobbering that mini cab driver last night was probably just as a favour to Audley, who must've sold a few more tickets by adding Haye's name to the bill.
He does look a serious hitter though, I doubt many cruiserweights can take the kind of power he has. He needs to make the right matches this year, as they're obviously hoping to move him up quickly.
