just read a book on the great singer jackie wilson called "lonely teardrops",it says in that he was a former pro and had 12 bouts but i cant find any record of him being professional only a ex golden gloves champion ? does anybody know if he was a former pro ? i know berry gordy was the founder of motown. johnny burnette was a former golden gloves and a ex pro,jay silverheels (tonto) in the lone ranger was a former golden gloves champion twice as was the singer chris isaak.

This is only what I read dont remember where and I can't confirm if it's true or not.

Jackie Wilson tried his hand at boxing as a child and was beat up twice . He never boxed again after that, there was another Jackie Wilson that boxed that everyone had mixed up with him.
