To all Promoters

As a Nottingham born guy and currently residing on the border of Notts/Derbys its becoming apparant that Nottingham seems to be the forgotten land as far as promoters are concerned .
Why is it that unless its a Carl Froch bill theres no Professional boxing in Nottingham whatsoever .
Theres plenty of unlicensed and i know Damian Hucker that does the Fight @ the Forum events and posts on here (although not seen him post for a while) had previously spoken about getting his promoters license but from what i gather its on the backburner for him at the moment as hes getting married and that obviously has a rather large expense for someone who was having to save the money to go pro himself with no investors etc .
So why is there no promoters putting shows on in Nottingham ?
Youve got Carl Greaves doing really well of late but hes mainly on the east cost / Lincolnshire / South Yorkshire
Clifton Mitchell covers Derby and Leicester , so its as if theres a hole in the middle thats not being filled and would be a good place for someone to dig their boots in and establish themselves territorially in what lets face it , isnt exactly a minor city in my view .
Theres more than enough lads to put regular shows on aside from Froch , People like unbeaten featherweight Leigh Wood , who sells an absolute boatload of tickets when hes given the opportunity but instead hes having to box in places like Hull and Manchester , and still manages to shift 60 - 70 tickets , so hes an ideal person for a promoter here in Nottingham, theres guys like Adnan Amar , Curtis Valentine , Terry Maughan , Shane Mcphilbin , Jason Booth , Barrington Brown , Nathan Mcintosh etc etc plus i know theres a hell of a lot of guys who have to box unlicensed as theres no option for them to turn pro unless they become journeymen without promotion .
Nottingham lads dont get to build and improve their records as they have to take away fights , Barrington Brown and Curtis Valentine are perfect examples , i cant remember ever seeing them box in Nottingham , EVER .
Damian did a very high standard of a prizefighter tournament lightweight in April last year , i know as it was the first of his shows that i had a boxer on , and of the 8 entrants 5 have gone pro , all are from outside nottingham , the 3 Nottingham guys who were involved in that are the only ones who havent gone pro despite all 3 saying they want to .
He also has a real talent in Brendan Urquhart , who is a heavy hitting welterweight and certainly could be built into a good pro if he had promotion and Heavyweight Karl Beard who is as good as a lot of the pro heavyweights we see across the country
Weve spoken on here a while ago about Gary Mayor , who despite his age being in his 30s if he turned pro i would GUARANTEE he would win a british title , hes better right now than any light heavyweight in the UK outside of Cleverly and Bellew and i wouldnt count him out against them either , but he needs a promoter if hes going to turn pro as hes served time for a serious crime when he was a lot younger which he believes would hold him back if he didnt have backing
The future of Boxing in Nottingham would look very good if someone took it by the scruff of the neck and started putting on shows .
So this is probably aimed more at those promoters who work closer to Nottingham , such as Clifton Mitchell , Carl Greaves , and even David Caldwell doesnt operate a million miles away .
Im sure theres other parts of the country in similar situations but i had a conversation with someone last night and it really annoyed me when thinking about it so had to have my rant .

I really hope that is the case , Ive never met Jimmy but Tony seems a genuinely nice guy
