Oscar. Solid chin plus speed and movement that will allow him to avoid taking too many bombs.
Oscar late TKO or wide dec.

It's a great fight that, kinda makes you wonder why it never happened back in the day.

They were talking about it, but Vince Phillips crashed the party. By the time Tszyu had reclaimed his previous status, Oscar was in the Tito/Mosley phase.

Definitely. I wish Tszyu would have had a chance with many people floating around in his day, like De La Hoya, Mosley, Mayweather, Castillo, Casamayor, etc.
I am a big fan of Tszyu but this is one guy who fought around his class that I would clearly favor over him. De La Hoya had all the tools necessary to be great. He would probably be a bit bigger than Tszyu. The jab, handspeed, movement, and combination punching of De La Hoya stifles Tszyu`s offense enough to win a UD.
Tszyu was a wrecking machine in his prime and he would definitely catch De La Hoya but De La Hoya had a great chin. I am not sure who De La Hoya fought that was like Tszyu and I am don`t think anyone Tszyu fought was like De La Hoya.

Not sure if that would be my final prediction.
De La Hoya's jab and foot work would help him out.
I can't see him stopping prime Oscar.

The only thing that keeps me from a very certain Oscar win is the 15 round limit. While neither ever went there, I have a suspicion Tszyu would be closing strong. I'll still take DLH by decision, but much less confidently than at 12.

Oscar had a damn good chin. He was stopped twice--by an ATG middleweight and by Pac after having absorbed a one-sided beating for 8 rounds, though he never was down in that fight.

I have no idea why the fight would be proposed for 15 considering neither ever fought one, and 15 rounds is gone forever.

This is the kind of match-up where I think where people who think 15>12 would be saying "SEE?!"
I think guys in the same era should be matched according to the rules of the era. I could understand 15 involving 2 fighters in that era.
There was a time in boxing with no mandatory 8-count, too. I think guys who always fought 12 should be matched in a 12-rounder.
There was also a bareknuckle era. I don't think we'd match up modern fighters in a bareknuckle match.

Then go ahead and start another thread that is 12 rounds. WTF?

I think KT looks good in a loss, and probably does little to tarnish his image.
However he does have a punchers chance, but Oscar's chin is pretty legit.....but I wonder about a well placed liver shot?
KT was much the headhunter.....so I have to highly favor Oscar in this ....15 or 12.
KT has to get the KO.....or it's not his day. And I think that lucky shot is unlikely.
and KT is one of my all time favorite fighters.

I agree, in a 15 round bout. Rounds 13,14 and 15 all go Kostya's way, making it a much closer bout.

Aye he did, and he took some big ones off Fernando Vargas, Tito Trinidad along the way as well and dished out some some meaty ones stopping Vargas and he got right gut check off B-Hop and he was drained and shot to hell against Pacquiao who dazzled with hsi handspeed and footwork and "rearranged his once beautiful face" to quote Jim Lampley, and it was an awful fight to watch. As for him against Tszyu I reckon he beats by working off the jab and using that left hook that he used to deck Ricardo Mayorga twice to great effect but he won't drop Tzuyu and unless Tzuyu performs a gut check on De La Hoya I don't see him dropping De la Hoya either, so it will go the distance my eyes.
