Matt Hall has been one of those guys who so many people put a lot of faith in, but when you break it down how many times has he actually looked impressive (outside of the Pryce fight)?
Saunders to look a fair bit bigger and a whole lot better in a very one sided fight

I'd rather Saunders fought a proper middleweight instead of another light middleweight, but Hall is an okay opponent.

How does Matt Hall get a shot at the UK middleweight title? He retired after the shocking performance against Konecny (at Light Middle) and he's hardly been dramatically improved since coming back. He's not fought anyone of note at 160 and has lost 4 of his last 6.

This is a poor fight. I thought it was about getting John Ryder. There is some decent fighters at this weight where he could of get a fight with but he chose Hall this is really poor tbh.

I rate Billy Joe Saunders highly very dissapointed in this matchup he should make quick work of him.

I like both boxers but not together. Saunders will be far too big for Hall who's hardly a banger

Bit of a poor fight but considering he didn't look great last time out a fight like this was to be expected, Once Hall realises he can't bully BJS around it will be only a matter of time before Hall gets broken down and will more thank likely retire again

Matthew was a small light middleweight. He's a tiny middleweight. He should have been doing welterweight or even light-welterweight (maybe that'd have been too much of a stretch) and his career would have panned out differently.

Typical Powell. I bet he's in the corner aswell. Should be right your matchmaker in your corner?

Saunders v John Ryder would have been a match up to set the division alight. Saunders v Hall does very little to excite.

I read McEwan turned it down, so at least it seems they tried to get a middleweight opponent.

It surprises me how many posters seem amazed that BJS and Ryder aren't matched yet. It won't happen unless Ryder is made mandatory, and even that is no guarantee.
Unless one of them changes promoter of course..

Hall is a light middleweight but stepped up to the plate when he got the offer unlike your mate Erick who you kept making excuses when everyone was asking why he wouldn't fight al haarbi.

I expect once Ryder is mandatory BJS would look to European level but based on this kind of opposition god knows what Warren has planned for him.

i'm so glad he didnt get matched up with Nas becauseErick would of done all that hard training and Nas most probably would of pulled out for some reason.

I don't think that's really the problem mate, I think Warren, Saunders and Ryder would all take the fight and Hearn might not only because he might think Ryder is a wee touch Green for it yet and it might be a touch early for him, which is a fair assessment really. The real block will be getting a allegedly prospect and a Sky prospect to fight each other on one channel, just cannot see it happening which is sad.
This fight is fine. Hall is a career light-middle but he's not exactly getting blown away on current form, he's been in hard fought, debatable losses. The big three UK middles aren't interested in Saunders and the British title and if Saunders wants to win the Lonsdale outright who else is there? Your probably looking at Arron and Hope. Etches, Eubank and Ryder are of the same crop, a bit behind Saunders in experience.
So long as Saunders keeps busy and improves the fight is fine. He's not fought a Hall style of fighter at a good level yet anyway. Could be better but not bad
