I didn't know that. Carlo Orlandi was another one.

A Bantamweight from Thailand, who was a 'Deaf-Mute' and a Muhammad Ali boxing impersonator.
From his white boxing trunks woith black vertical stripes to white shoes and tassles.
A popular Muay-Thai kick-boxing Champion, who was called 'Super Thai'. Was regarded as Thailand's
best bet to win a World Bantamweight Championship in the mid-1970's. A 5' 4" boxer-puncher, who
immitated Muhammad Ali's style of boxing and moving, including dropping his hands to his side and
playing 'Rope-A-Dope'.
From your description, it seems like it was a one-point fight.Il Duce wrote:Thanomchit Sukhothai vs Fernando Cabanela -
Thanomchit starts off by boxing well, and controls the first 3-Rounds against the moving Cabanela.
But the tricky Filipino starts his comeback in Round 4, by throwing right-hand leads on the 'Super Thai'
that rocks him back on his heals.
In Round 5, Fernando 'staggers' Thanomchit with a right hand to the chin, and continues to rattle the
youngster with snapping leads.
Thanomchit struggles though Round 6, as he is out-matched by the more experienced Cabanela.
But, in Round 7, 'Super Thai' gets lucky. While backed up along the ropes, and getting pounded by the Filipino,
Thanomchit bounces off the ropes and catches Fernando with a 'wild left hook' that floors the Filipino for 3-Count.
Fernando gets up, but is 'dazed', and Thanomchit attacks in a blaze nearly flooring Cabanela again.
Despite losing Round 7 big, it is the smart veteran Cabanela who picks up the pace in Round 8, and goes to back
what works, straight right-hand leads to the chin of Thanomchit who continues to hold his lands low.
Rounds 9 and 10 are fought 'in-close' as both figheters look for the 'one-punch' to end it, but the Filipino
scores with more punches while keeping Thanomchit with his back on the ropes.
Though Fernando Cabanela clearly had the edge in Rounds, the Thailand judges award the bout to
Thanomchit 'Super Thai' Sukhothai by a Unanimous Decision.
The Filipino's corner hotly disputed the 'decision' and filed a protest with the TBC and the WBA Asian Representative.

Note: Obviously the complaint worked in favor for the Filipino's Team, as Fernando Cabanela got the opportunity to
challenge WBA Bantamweight- Champion - Soo-Hwan Hong next.
On December 28, 1974 in South Korea - Fernando Cabanela lost another ' hotly disputed' Decision, this time
to WBA Champion - Soo-Hwan Hong.

Thanomchit comes out boxing, as Alfonso presses with a badly cut right eye.
Through the first 40-Seconds, Thanomchit stays moving, but still is foolishly keeping his hands low.
The Champion gets within range at the (0:46 Mark), and lands a nice 3-punch combination, before the
Challenger gets back to moving.
At the (1:13 Mark), the Thai lands a sharp right-hand that keeps Zamora at a distance, before moving away.
Then 15-seconds later, Thanomchit tries to leap forward while throwing a right hand, and walks into a hard
counter left-hook by the Champion at the (1:27 Mark), which drops him.
Thanomchit is up at the '3-Count', and does not appear to be badly hurt. The Champion attacks, and drives
Thanomchit to the ropes, where he pounds with a hard 'right-left-left-right'. Zamora will not allow Thanomchit
to get away, and catches him with another '5-Punch' assault at the (2:03 Mark).
Zamora continues the attack, and sends Thanomchit reeling with a hard right-left, and then drives him to the ropes
at the (2:08 Mark) with a wicked left hook. Thanomchit looks at Referee - Dick Young for help, and the Referee calls
a halt to the bout at 2:11 of Round 4.
