Chad Bennett stopped Ben Ankrah of Ghana in the third round of a ten rounder in the Hard Rock Hotel in Nevada overnight. The fight was on the Matthysse / Dallas jnr card.

ankrah is not the greatest fighter about but it gives Chad USA exposure, knocking Ankrah down in the second and third rounds.

So what was the reason he fought over there then? Is he preparing for a title shot?.

I remember reading that he was "closing in on a title shot" the last time he fought in the US (back in 2010). At 39, he doesn't have much time left. Unfortunately, at 140 pounds, there aren't a lot of great options for him (Peterson and Garcia have fights lined up). If JMM does take a tune-up fight prior to facing Pacquiao again, I suppose it could be Bennett?
