Dont think Geale's team want this fight as they are real keen on taking him to the US , no doubt Soliman has earnt it but is a Soliman fight even in the picture for Geale?

If he wants to keep his IBF title it will. That will be a good bargaining chip in the states. I think Geale would beat Soliman pretty convincingly. But I don't think it would be a good fight to watch

He needs to retain the IBF title to get the big fights. So unless Shaw can wrangle a fight in before a mandatory against Soliman it looks like Geale v Soliman next.

But this is boxing 2013 so anything is possible.

I think Shaw will struggle to get a fight big enough for the IBF to hold off a mandatory. Golovkin is the only champion not to have a fight scheduled and that because he recently fought. Martinez and Quillin are both fighting in April.

If they don't find a better option first Geale/Soliman will happen next.
First off there is nothing wrong with defending hard earned belts. I don't think he went to Germany twice with the intent of just giving away both of the belts he collected.

So what options are better than Soliman?
Remember Soliman= likely easy win, gets to keep his belt and will not need to travel.

I'm thinking Soliman will get the title shot he just earned.

Soliman had to jump through so many hoops to get this title shot, I very doubt the IBF would let $2 meal deal Geale fight anyone else but Sam.

Unless Geale fights Golovkin but 3G is fighting the Jap that KTFO Kirkland last year. They might have to pay Sam off. And Geale should win the 3G fight easy. I sore what a washed up Ouma did to 3G for 10 rounds going toe to toe before losing.

they better have a great undercard to help get viewers.

I personally think we will see Sam and Geale in May. Sam has earnt it, and the other big names for Geale are spoken for. I think Matthew Macklin is an excellent fight for Geale later in the year under the bright lights of Vega's. That is assuming of course, he gets past Soliman!

I think it will happen. the IBF has made it clear that if he wants to keep the belt it will have to happen, so unless he fights GGG for the WBA belt, which is unlikely as GGG is fighting in May, he will have to fight soliman to keep a title.

I think the fight should and will happen. sam didnt have to fight Sturm. And the IBF will strip Geale if he doesnt defend against the King, who deserves it after his recent great performance. I dont think this is an easy fight for Geale by any stretch of the imagination. If marketed correctly this fight can do decent money for both fighters. Melboutne in May would be great.

If Daniel didn't want to fight Sam, then he took the wrong track when he come to the fork. I think he would beat Golovkin, and would have made similar money for that fight as Mundine, I guess. Now he is in a catch 22 position, he wants to by-pass Sam to fight for a big money fight in The States, but will be stripped of his only belt if he by-passes Sam. If he is stripped of his only belt, there is no big money fight in The States or UK. I imagine Daniel would rather not fight Sam so he can ripp straight into an overseas name and I imagine his handlers would rather not fight Sam as he is somewhat dangerous to 'the plan'.

Geale probably made between $1.5M and $2M against Mundine. So the bills won't be a problem for a while, even if he has a comparatively lesser money fight against Soliman. If it is Geale's only way of retaining his IBF title might as well set a date and get it done.

I think Soliman deserves it but Geale vs Macklin would be more exciting, cant see Geale fighting Golovkin or Martinez till next year.

Normally, 6 days on from the fight, the PPV revenue would not be finalised.

Also, does anyone have any idea on PPV buys?

I would think Geale earned twice as much by fighting Mundine than of he fought GGG..plus his future earnings from AUS have increased as he know has a lot more suppporters after beating mundine up.

Adamheight is a judge. I think he knows what he is talking about.

You might note I said I wasn't doubting him, simply asking if any evidence of the official amounts was available.

In any event, judges would not necessarily be informed of what each fighter makes from a fight, that is a promoters concern....that is like saying a cricket umpire knows what each player on the field erans

Just about to post the same. Sam jumping the gun. I wish Geale would just give him a shot get it out of the way and then head O/S.

Apparently Geales team are having a meeting this thursday to decide their next move... I dont think Soliman has a chance at beating Geale so he should be happy if Geale vacates,DG will either vacate and go make money in the USA or fight soliman here for not as much and take a risk against an awkward fit fighter.

The fight with Soliman would sell now Geale is more known in Australia, Have the fight in Melbourne and they should get a desent crowd.

Unless a Silver or Diamond belt comes falling out of the sky for Geale to fight in the USA against a pommie, then cant see him dumping the IBF belt.
