I was thinking about how Matchroom have their monopoly on sky with the Boxing , the Darts , Snooker and theyve also got their fingers into Bowling and Fishing i think as well as owning Leyton Orient .
If you was to be given an investment opportunity in that you was going to be putting on pro boxing events and was also to invest and spend time building up 3 other sports within the uk what would you choose .
This is kind of off topic if mods beleive it should be on other sports but i was interested in a british perspective not an international one .
My own choice is that along with the boxing id invest into a small football club , but one with potential to grow , maybe someone like notts county but if they are too big theres plenty of clubs in the higher realms of non league football such as Luton .
Id then invest a bit into the British Basketball scene , id hope to capitalise in whats already a popular sport and try to get it higher , the funding has now been cut so now would be an ideal time to jump in .
and then as my obscure sport to push into the public eye i would go for handball , which although obscure here is massive in many other european countries , i for one enjoyed watching it in the olympics so i think it would be great to try to improve participation level at grass roots level and see how far i could take it .
Any views , only a bit of fun .
