My First Title Fight 8th March....

Hi all just trying to drum up some interest for my first title fight, it's an international masters title and i'm hoping it is the start of a big year for me. I have been on the ball since my last fight which was way back in september. I was supposed to have a 6 rounder in november but had to pull it due to illness so decided to go straight into the ten rounders and am relishing the chance to have the time to show what i can do over the longer distance.
the fight is at the coronet theatre, Elephant and Castle on the 8th march and is supported by a full undercard.
It's a hellraiser promotions and only know a couple of the names on the undercard so far but should be a good night of boxing, plus the coronet is like a bear pit and gets an amazing atmosphere i boxed there in november 2011 and it was buzzing
thats when i did this.....

Cheers Woody

Was a very Good Combo , I thought the other lad was looking comfortable and winning the round until then but there was no chance he was getting up from that .

Roughly the same weight on the night I weight 13st 3lb it was only 3 and half weeks after my wedding and must've ate too much cake oops. I am now fighting at 12st 7lbs and never go too much above the weight. He was 13.1 I think.
I'm naturally quite big at the weight although I'm only 5ft11
Looking at making an impact this year hopefully it all starts coming together now.

Is that a combo you work on or did you improvise that? I watched it back about 10 times, very impressed

The combo just came out not sure if I would ever do it again lol. Na a few of the shots I work on just never put em together that we'll before then. I'm throwing a lot more combination shots nowadays so expect to see more of this on the 8th anyone who is gonna be there. Nt sure on opponent yet have been given a name but i never really am 100% confident on that being the same name come fight night i have been let down on all but 2 of my fights as far as opponents go. Apart from the 2 fights I knew the opponent in advance I have only ever had maximum 3 days notice and most of the time it was day before. Guess I'm just unlucky or they see this and didn't fancy it lol.
Cheers all for the interest means a lot hopefully It'll be a big year for me an this is just the start of things.

Somebody who complies with the Mickey Helliett formula I would guess.

Lovely combo, not so much power as accurate or lucky shots, not being cheeky mate but they could be lucky, lets hope you can do it again. Looks to have really rocked the equilibrium of he opponent. By the way, do you enjoy the road work? I might be wrong but I'd say with those calves you put the miles in. Sweet footwork and solid boxing to grow with. Good luck pal, keep it .

I understand that the opponent probably isn't the greatest but I've seen a video of him and he looks tough he's never been stopped so I'll be aiming to better anything anyone before me has done. Its hard because I have no backing financially or from a promotional aspect either we have to be careful with who I fight in my first ten rounder especially as I've been out the ring for 6 months almost. After I'm confident of having the them round experience I will go on and fight anyone I want to win titles and I want to be in good fights the problem is I don't know whether I'm good enough to do that yet hence taking small steps at a time. Look at some of the top fighters now days they all started fighting lower level fighters that they expected go beat and some of them even slipped up I can't afford to slip up as if I do no backing means end of my career. I'm 30 this year and I need to start moving forward however I need to do it sensibly and as slowly as I can afford to.
I understand its probably dissapointing or you to see my name up against someone who has only won 2 fights and I agree its not great for the sport but unfortunately that's the game km in. If I could afford to take risks I would and I am confident of beating all of the fighters around my level so when the opportunity comes we will see if I was right or wrong. Ive LSO only been boxing for 6 & half years so am young in the game and have lots of learning and improving to do but I promise keep an eye out because I'm aiming for the top and I won't stop until I either get there or I believe I can't get there.
Thanks all for your comments I love reading them makes me feel special

All my family are the same mate even my little sister has big legs (she hates it) Lol I do like a bit of roadwork but if anything that slims em down. I'm not the greatest long distance runner I'm built more for sprinting km always firstup the hills out of the lads I train with but last one back to the gym on the long run back :-/
Cheers for paying an interest mate and one thing to remember.
Every shot is lucky but I was clever enough to throw the shots and create the luck
