That's a good reason to pull out of a fight with Kell Brook.

The style contrast isn't good, and it will likely be a boring bout, but it's a much bigger opportunity for Alexander.

Paulie seems to want to fight Maidana, and the WBA just ordered him to fight Diego Chaves. I'm not sure who the leading option is though.

In that case I'm leaning toward the belt being dropped.

A number of people, including Fat Dan, seem to think that Mayweather is BSing.

We shall see.

I'm in Vegas that weekend and considering going....extremely underwhelmed if it really is Alexander though, dear oh dear.

Whoa, Alexander is locked into a contract to box Kell, who is his mandatory.

He can probably back out and take the retirement cash he'd get from boxing PBF but he couldn't take the IBF belt with him.

If he wants to shaft Kell and box PBF, he'll have to vacate first.

In that scenario, can't really see the attraction for PBF. PBF is looking for a belt.

A governing body will strip someone and lose out on a fee and their title being fought for by the best boxer out there in order to protect the rights of an unknown challenger? Hmmm.

this would be a horrible fight to watch and i think floyd would just hold devon off with relative ease

If its not going to be a unification fight i dont see the point of PBF making this fight.

Floyd is a title. He could generate enough cash fighting exibitions. Anyone who beats Floyd, even with no title on the line, is world number one no question. Three letter belts then becoming irrelevant

I rather so much more fighters than Alexander, I would even prefer Malignaggi.

I really hope this fight doesn't happen because it would be terrible and a very easy win for Mayweather.

Agreed. Bradley and Matthyse both beat Alexander. This just seems like an easy pay day. Keeping his 0 etc. I would respect him more fighting Alvarez. Pacman fights pointless only real competative fight out there is Martinez, although a big step up in weight. It's the only fight that will show us how amazing Floyd is because although these fighters are good, he beats Guerrero, Martinez, Alexander and the rest 100 times out of 100
