Jack Dempsey in hypothetical match-ups with these heavyweight giants....
Lennox Lewis (billed as 6'5" & 245 pounds, presumably 6'8")
Vitali Klitschko (6'8" 250 pounds)
Vladimir Klitschko (6'7" 245 pounds)
George Foreman (billed as 6'3" 220 pounds in prime (looks taller), as high as 300 in second return)
Jim Jeffries (6'2" 220 pounds peak condition, fought as high as 280 pounds)
Your thoughts on these match ups?

It's all but impossble to know...
He knocked out a lot of big men, genuine contenders...
He couldn't come in at 190...but then these days Jack would be bulked up...probably to something like Holyfield proportions...
Lesser fighters KO'd Lennox and Wlad...so he could win those fights.

If you go down the line, he was very impressive against big men. However, what was big then is almost considered the norm today. The Klitschko's are champions and we have men like Fury (6'9"), Price (6'8"), Arreola (6'4"), etc. as top contenders. Dempsey recorded knockout wins over such men as Carl Morris (6'4"), Fred Fulton (6'5"), Jess Willard (6'6"), and had exhibitions with men like Bill Tate (6'8") who was also Dempsey's chief sparring partner, and Ben Wray (7'2") who was 4-0-0 in prep for Tommy Gibbons. I think against the Klitschko's Dempsey wins decisions, Lewis he possibly catches early, and Jeffries is the hard one to decipher. I think that match would be a very bloody affair.
I brought the discussion up because on our radio show not too long ago Chris Arreola said he felt he was simply too big and strong for heavyweights of the Marciano-era and prior. Of them all Dempsey was the best giant killer, so I don't really agree with Arreola's assumptions. He hasnt done much in my mind to warrant him being the best heavyweight in America, let alone being capable of beating anyone from those times.

Arreola isn't big and strong, he's fat.

His words, not mine Saad. Like I said, I wasnt too enthused with what he had to say on the radio show and I let him know so.
