Kev Mitchell's obit is one of the best I've ever read.

I had never come across him, but on the strength of what I've just read, I bought "This bloody mary is the last thing I own" and "12 Grand".

I read about Rendall in Colin MacMillan's brilliant book 'Fight the Power'. It is interesting to learn about the exploration of another media person (writer) into the business of boxing, as MacMillan's manager and he seemed to have done a lot of good for MacMillan. Schulberg dabbled as briefly as a trainer and John Duncan was another one who tried his hand at getting into the business side of boxing, I'm sure there must have been many more that have made that transition over the years. I think I will seek out some of Rendall's books, particularly the Bloody Mary one.
