I've just watched this fight and had some conclusions. He had this fight to gain some confidence after GGGs fight. This fight was to win by knockout, and he failed. He won a very easy fight, but he failed too much at the momento to land the jabs.

He is in tatters since Hope & Golovkin.

He looked sensational against Sylvester (?) in Germany and really caught everyone's eye but now is well out of contention, which is a pity as he was very good to watch.

He obviously isn't training properly or is too cocky. He will brush off the Hope loss, but he was crushed by Golovkin like a peanut under a jack boot.

That would definitely have taken a lot of swagger out of him.

I wonder if he could make 154lb ?

I assumed they might be lining him up for Barker, as I think we are still waiting for an opponent for him in March?

i just dont rate him and never have done, seems to rely on big wide hooks. someone with a straight hard shot, decent jab, and who can move...may well box the ears off him..again.

I'm not so sure about the Hope fight. Although Proksa was dreadful in their first fight I thought he won it by a few rounds, he stood Hope on his head in the rematch.

The Golovkin fight was poor match making from his team. Proksa is a smallish middleweight, Golovkin is a beast. To beat Golovkin someone will need to be rugged enough to take a few shots and have a hard jab and solid ring craft. Golovkin can be nailed coming in and he's not the quickest. Hard straight punches and constant changing on angles so he doesn't get his feet set. Proksa swings from the hip and looks to lean away from shots, added to his small-ish stature he was doomed vs GGG.

Let's ot be too hard on Proksa though. Sylvester is a decent fighter, he was in a competitive 12 rounder vs Geale the fight before and Proksa smashed him to pieces. Hindsight is a great thing.........

Good post well said Proska I reckon underprepared for Hope looking at record etc not treating him as a serious threat, Proska got drawn in and fought the wrong fight he looked much better prepared and cleverer the 2nd fight, the way he defeated sylvester was awesome too very classy!!

You can't say he is finished after losing to golovkin he has very heavy hands like stone he kept getting up showed great heart but I rate golovkin!!

It's just his star has tumbled quite far and he has a way to go before its back in ascension.

I like him a lot, and expected big things, but the Hope fight showed holes in his attitude. He proved what he can do in the rematch - but I think he is maybe a touch small for middle.

Fair comment

I think some people (I'm not alluding to you here) can be a bit quick to write guys off after a defeat. I', not saying Proska will be the best at 160lbs at any point but he'll be a good European class / fringe world class guy IMO. That's a pretty good career in my opinion.

I agree that like Saunders I think he could compete at 154lbs though. Mind you his people would know better than me.....

I also thought he won both Hope fights (but don’t begrudge Hope his victory). But in the first you could see he was irritated that Hope wasn’t folding and instead of upping his work-rate and putting less into individual shots he just kept swinging for the seats…

I hope he comes good again. He’s based in Redhill not too far from me.

I think a fight with Murray/Barker would be a good tussle.

His last fight in Belfast is six rounds of boxing I won't be in a hurry to watch again.
