Biggest one sided beating of an ATG in their prime?

Ok the criteria is the fight must have gone the distance, the loser was an ATG fighter in their prime and they were giving a universally recognised whupping by the other fighter. Any examples?

Does Locche/Cervantes I count as a beating? It certainly was one-sided.

Does anyone know the actual scoring of this fight in terms of rounds?

I have always assumed this was a one sided beating. But i just read a round by round report. It is hard to gauge and it is clearly a tragedy that this want filmed. but, that report seemed to give tunney the first five rounds. It is clear from it that clearly won at least three of the last five rounds. The middle rounds (from the description) coudl have mostly gone either way (as i suppose could have some of the first five rounds. It seemed clear that throughout the fight, Tunney was landing much harder blows, with Greb landing more often. It has got me interested. (as has their other fights). UNder todays scoring, even though Greb clearly won three or more rounds, if Tunney won the first five, this sounds like it might have actually been a pretty close fight. What official scoring system was used.

The problem with this topic is that when a fighter gets beaten one-sided then people will say that he was past his prime.

Douglas/Tyson is the first that comes to mind.

How about Turpin beating the 30 year old Robinson who was 128-1-2 and on a 91 fight unbeaten streak?

It wasn't one-sided but Duran gave Leonard a hell of a beating.

Same goes for Bowe/Holyfield 1

Was it one-sided? Never saw it and don't know much about it.

it's actually a pretty awful fight if you can stand to watch the whole 15 rounds, Turpin does a lot of Hopkins-style falling-in after right hands, and a lot of mauling and use of head/shoulders etc. once every 90 seconds he maybe lands a jab or right hand.

Doesn't sound one-sided, unless Robinson wasn't doing anything.
Thanks for the info.

Robinson looks tired, especially after all the wrasslin.

Turpin looks like a very big, strong, muscular middleweight indeed.

As much as it upsets me to recall it, the first Barrera-Pacquiao fight will always be the exemplar of this for me.

A criterion was that the fight went the distance.

No it wasn't a Calzaghe-Lacy display but I don't think there was ever any doubt about who won, even Robinson acknowleged the defeat. It was a huge upset and I guess as Robinson is generally thought to be the greatest fighter ever it was a pretty good win for Turpin considering the length of time Robinson had gone without being beaten.

The greatest win ever by a British boxer.

Now I don't know if he is considered an ATG but Toney was outclassed by Roy Jones.

Louis takes a hell of a beating from Schmeling.

Fritzie Zivic busted up Henry Armstrong badly in their first fight. Cut both his eyes, had him down in the last round and dished out a bad beating.

tunney himself agreed he had been badly beaten up by greb in the first fight - his face was a terrible mess yet through a terrible beating he had sussed how to beat harry. this rings true of tunneys attitude to the sport
