Dickens wants a bigger fight

He's not getting in with any of the big name domestic super bantamweights, maybe there going down the Commonwealth route

if hes not getting sniff on the british scene, and wants to move cant see why they wouldent go down the commonwealth route

no mcdonnell withdrew from the purse bid.

This match was made before McDonnell v Dickinson went out to purse bids I'd already gone to print and tickets have been on sale for two weeks so obviously I couldn't go into purse bids to fight for an English title when contracts have already been signed to fight economides Gavin is then on holiday for 2 weeks in may so will not be ready to box again till July after this fight... So it was impossible to negotiate a fight for English when this fight is made and iv already gone ahead with tickets etc for my own promotions if the board can't find a suitable opponent for jazza I'm sure he should be next in line for British title :-)

how come they didnt put it on bbbof notices with the other fights didnt they hav to approve it first. id also noticed that gavin was defending is area title is that off now

Because the fight was still been negotiated at the time with myself and economides team and the bbbofc approved the fight yesterday :-) so it will be on the next notices released yes Gavin was defending his area title against Hughes but Hughes is boxing 4 weeks before the schedual fight with Gavin and if he was to lose or get injured that would leave me with only 4 weeks to find a top of the bill title fight... So my promotion and my fighter comes first n this is a great fight for Gavin and I'm very pleased n proud to have made the fight I work very hard single handedly for all my fighters

fair play to mate was just wandering. wat was the anderson fight like his a local lad to me seen him fight a few times

Real 50-50 fight this one....Just think, twelve months ago Gavin was seen as Jamie's distinctly less talented, un-motivated brother. He has had a good year. Economides had beaten Shaun Doherty and Gavin Reid and was a two time Masters champion. Then came Dai Davies.

Two guys looking to make that step up....

In pauls defence, the dai davies that turned up was amazing, He destroyed paul then done a job on Rhys Roberts (which was given as a draw for some unknown reason), He got put out by john simpson but thats another level above. Dont forget dai davies also beat robbie turley and drew with jamie mcdonnell.

can we merge this with the gavin mcdonnell vs paul economides thread
