This fight is now back on in Essex on 5th April.

Chris has to pull out of this proposed content at the tail end of last year after his sister was in a near fatal car accident.

I’m a big fan of Mr Fagan and very friendly with him also, might even pop along and assist his corner on the night in question and I 100% hope he does the job BUT he is now 40, hasn’t fought in two years and the last win he has had over a fighter with a positive record was five years ago.

From what I have seen of Goodwin (Kiss, Johanneson, Thorpe) I haven’t been massively impressed. The 2007 Fagan beats the 2013 Goodwin, but I doubt the 2013 version of both ends in an Irish victory.

Chris has been sparring the likes of Mitchell, Burns and Gethin and earning excellent reviews, people will get a chance to make their own mind up on him April 5th

Just on the kiss fight, goodwin should have received a stoppage win on that show after making his opponent throw his guts up in the middle of the ring but the referee kindly gave kiss a minute to recover when he was obviously in no position to continue.

Johanneson was a dodgy decision, draw would have been fair i think. That fight took a lot more out of Johanneson that it did out of goodwin judging by Johannesons next fight 2 fights.

If Kiss had of only threw up in the middle of the ring that would of been OK but he later came and threw up over the ropes on me and Brendan from BoxRec News!

Give the guy a break though, you're as harsh as the ref Emile Tiedt. The dude was seriously sick, I've never seen so much coming out of a human being, and they just threw him back in there to fight another 3 rounds

You would be hearing incorrect information, Chris has not pulled out of the fight.

I'm just a little miffed because I altered my flights to miss the weigh in of my fighter John Hutchinson in Belfast on Friday so I could go to this one. :(

well if you are going to pipe up and say I am misinformed then I think you should have been ready for a follow up question to clarify the position then! ;)

As the promoter I can clarify.

Both boxers were willing to box. The British Boxing Board of control have refused permission for Oisin Fagan to box in the UK (due to inactivity). We felt this was a bad decision and appealed to the board. They have confirmed today that they will not let Oisin fight on UK. We can all have our opinions on the decision but there is nothing any of us (Goodwin Promotions or the Chris Goodwin team can do).

We have sourced other opponents and they are under consideration by the Chris Goodwin team as I write this.

Well said Mark, its not like Oisin has been out of the game. He is the IABA Youth officer for Dublin's inner city and training disadvantaged kids every day,

So why does this happen at such a late stage in the day. Why wasnt it established whether or not Fagan was able to box in this country way before the fight was announced.

Is this the fault of the promoter for not being thorough enough in their research or is it a case of the BBBC beingslow to give their assessment.
