Stylistic a bad matchup for Tua because hes a knockouter and normally good boxers have good chances against Valuev. Even Dominguez gave Valuev trouble. But if Tua cant knockout NV, it could became difficult even though im sure Valuev would definately NOT ko Tua too.

Haye had Valuev wobbly and I'm sure that Tua hit harder than Haye. That said, I agree that this is a tough matchup for Tua stylistically and I would actually favour Valuev to win a tight decision.

I would rather eat my own sick than watch this.

Valuev playing keepy-away & lean-on & Tua huffing around swinging one shot at a time wildly at a target he'd need a stepladder to get near equals one of the least aesthetically-pleasing matches I think it's possible to imagine.

No. You should be shot for even contemplating this eyesore. People would be dying of boredom in the aisles.

Valuev is a big man, thus he's a big target. He's so big in fact he is as mobile as a skyscraper. Easy cannon fodder for a man like Tua who was probably the hardest hitting man of the late 90s.

Tua. He'd hit Valuev like Haye did--the Valuev who needed a gift v. the ancient Holyfield.

It would be odd like when the fridge faced Minude Boll. (Is that how you spell his name? Or do I have the right Basketball player here?) Anyway...it would be sloppy, ugly, and unpredictable in my estimation.

Manute Bol, but you are thinking of the right guy, I actually remember that! And while he was about 8 inches taller than Valuev, I would guess he weighed about 75 -100 lbs less,lol.

I agree it would be ugly, but I can't imagine how it would go, aside from being an eyesore. I mean, I can't see Valuev hurting Tua, and I can't see Tua hurting Valuev really. They were both sort of freakish in different ways, but both were borderline impossible to knock down.

So, a chess match between a tree trunk, and a lumbering giant is sort of what I'm envisioning, and it isn't pretty.

I'll go with Valuev in a close fight were an average of 5 punches are thrown by both fighters combined each round. I think Valuev's huge reach advantage and natural resistance, due to his size, helps him squeeze out an ugly decision.

Sort of like Valuev/Ruiz, but worse.

Which would open the gates of hell, so it would all be moot from then on.

Valuev by decision, Tua is overrated everywhere but his chin.

Tua was very limited, but just because Lennox toyed with him doesn't mean that the dreadful Valuev would have been able to keep away for 12 rounds.

Haye almost got to Valuev based on his athletic wiry nature. Tua could not bounce high enough to get his payday shot in the way Haye managed to. Tua wasn't as "upwardly mobile."

I don't remember Valuev being really hurt when he fought Haye, but I could be wrong. It was awhile ago, and it wasn't exactly the fight of the century.

I can't see Tua coming in as fast as Haye, or landing enough to get the decision. Even if Tua did land something big, Valuev would be a bit stunned and probably recover.

I'm not saying Valuev would land a lot, of course, because he's obviously lumbering and slow. But Tua is there to be hit. Haye went in and out and moved around, while Tua can't do that in the same way. Not to mention the reach. Valuev could pretty much reach out and hug him if there was even a hint of offense anyway.

He was staggered in the final round by a hook. More form Haye's speed than his power and he was nowhere near going down. Tua would be far less dangerous than haye to a cumbersome fighter like Valuev. Tua would try to get inside, get smothered, and lose form a handful of jabs.

FWIW, I think Haye would beat the shit out of Tua at least 7 times out of 10.

It's a toss-up for me. The styles matchup of course favors Valuev, who in theory should be able to employ the Hasim Rahman strategy (and Rahman was pretty slow and immobile himself) to win a decision. But the style matchup also clearly favored Valuev over Ruiz, and the Quiet-Clincher beat Valuev on most scorecards in their first fight. But forced to pick give me Cro-Magnum by decision.

I've got Tua winning this fight. I have to disagree with Saad and Buzz, I think Tua vs Haye would make for a great fight and i do not see Haye " Beating the shit outta Tua", in fact I see Tua knocking Haye out cold.

In this particular matchup though...I don't know who would win between Tua and Valuev, but I figure it'd be a close decision either way. A draw wouldn't surprise me.

This fight would result in some of the grossest boxing photos ever. You think Ruiz having his face pasted in Valuevs upper chest is bad, just imagine Tua diving in for a body shot and getting pulled in face first into the beast's upper belly where his tit sweat festers in the thickest body hair around. That would be a TKO in favor of Valuev. Yes that is how I am making my pick.

I can't seed any other result than Tua winning. Definitely by decision, but I wouldn't rule out a late stoppage.
