After last night's "whales' revenge" against the hapless Takehara Lucas Brown faces Franklin Egobi, who has lost four of his last six fights.
Surely the promoters can do better than this?
(Please! No stories about Takehara putting up a game 60 seconds!)

None of the better ones want to fight him. When I mentioned that he was fighting the same pugs as foreigners you like you talk shit. Go bother somebody else you mental midget.

Did I blame the fighter? The promoters are pathetic.

I really hope the fight with Towers can be made again.

Why not have a crack at Price and make the trip worthwhile?

Browne would get hammered, I'll give you some great odds if this fight was ever to happen. It's not just different hemispheres there in geographically.

Price has not done much lately. KOed in his last fight.

Then Browne has never done much of anything in boxing; his best win is over a shot Jason Gavern.

still like to see browne vs price to get an idea where lucas is at. would be no shame if he lost to price, as long as he shows something.

Still upset about the paucity of Kiwi heavies since Tua's decline? Who has Price beaten?

Silly old Brute and his nationalistic nonsense.

Yes, as a Canadian I'm grieving over the lack of Kiwi heavyweight talent.
Price has easily beaten Matt Skelton, Audley Harrison, John McDermott, and Sam Sexton. While these are not great opponents, each of them are superior to any opponent that Browne has defeated; even the unbeaten version of Tom Dallas would be at worst on par with the version of Jason Gavern that Browne defeated for his best win. Price failed when he fought a fringe world class opponent in Tony Thompson, but Thompson is leagues above anyone that Browne has fought, so that loss shouldn't be used against Price when comparing him to Browne.
I'm not trying to make a case that Price is a great fighter while Browne is no good; I'm trying to show that comments like
'Price hasn't done much lately' or
'Browne beats Price. Lucas is one of the biggest heavyweight punchers in the world ,' can easily be flipped to
'Browne has never done much ' or
'Price beats Browne. Price is one of the biggest heavyweight punchers in the world .'

Let's give Price's conqueror the final word:
"Fat, 41 year old year old American heavyweight boxer Tony Thompson after, surprisingly, knocking out Britain's rising star, 29 year old David Price: 'I didn't mind them drug testing me. All they were going to find was doughnut juice and fried chicken. How can you look at my belly and tell me I am on something.' (Fitz Files, SMH)".
There you have it. The Commonwealth Heavyweight champion KOed by a self confessed fat slob.

tony is one of the top ten heavys probably, he's not a lucas browne.
big or small gut, tony still has power to ko guys. price lost by ko, not by wide points decision. when these big heavies fight, most have the power to ko each other if they land a good flush shot.
don't worry about tony's comments, he trained well enough to win the fight if he was good enough. he's just trying to make it look like he was only 50% fit to satisfy his EGO.
the only reason why many were surprised tony won was because too many people were talking price up like he was the next superstar after the klits r gone. and fans r DESPERATE to find someone who might actually give the klits a challenge.

That fat slob is arguably a top ten heavyweight, and he gave Wlad Klitschko the toughest fight he's had in 8 years; he is the only opponent aside from Corrie Sanders to outland Wlad according to Compubox.
Extra weight or not, Thompson is still levels above anyone that Price or Browne has defeated.

Did you look at the 15 blokes the "then undefeated Tom Dallas" fought before Price? All had negative records or a handful of fights. Since Price, Dallas's only win was against a novice with 3 fights.

Lucas had to scrape himself off the canvas against heavy weight non-entity, Scott Belshaw not too long ago. I think he would get quickly minced against Price.

I know.
No one is saying that Tom Dallas is a quality fighter with a good record.

You know nothing. Lucas did not scrape himself off anything. He got up from a dubious knockdown to KO Belshaw in the second round.

That 'fat slob' Tiger Thompson is a lot better than you know and would absolutely obliterate everyone your mate De Mori ever fought and probably all the 'big' names he was said to be going to fight as well.

Tiger Thompson has hell of a lot more experience then Price, Price just does not listen to his corner man (Or in that fight anyway). He (Thompson) would be a handfull to all All Aus Heavyweights.
Getting back to Browne - I would pay to see him fight Sol, Yet Im sure Hatton and Co have bigger plans. And with Sol's new rating i hope he gets a chance at a top 10 fighter asap.

Thompson would be more than just a handful for our heavyweights. He would beat any of them comfortably.

Kiss of death to Thompson.
