Well, Joe was demolished by Foreman. I'd certainly rate him behind Ali after that. And Ellis had only lost to Ali since he was beaten by Frazier in 1970, so I don't think it was unreasonable to drop Frazier to third. But I imagine he climbed later in the year when Ellis was blown away by Shavers and Ali lost to Norton. Boy 1973 had it share of heavyweight upsets.
