Seeing quotes of £380 and heard its been changing hands for £500+ on amazon what's the story?

I thought it was because Kirkland hid 5 golden tickets amongst the books?

That's what he says, anyway.

This book was printed in a limited edition of 2000 copies and he won't print anymore which is odd as I am sure he could shift them and make more cash for Kirk but I guess he has his reasons. I waited for ages for it to come up at a reasonable price having missed the original offering I guess thats the only way.

I've got a copy and bought it from the author - it was £20 or £25. It probably had 1 print run and won't do a re print so they will be quite rare. It is very indepth and was a real labour of love though I've not finished it.
If you were spending over £800 on a book I imagine you'd want it fed expressing.

(I got Judas Pig and that goes for silly money though you can get it on a kindle for a fiver, maybe the Laing book will become available too).

The author (Oliver Jarratt) happens to be a BBBofC area rep in the Midlands (as well as being a solicitor by trade).

He also spent a hell of a long time researching it and made a great job of it its a very good book

fornicating hell. I bought mine direct from the author for something like £18 when it came out.

Might have to cash in and get it sold.

My wifes eyes lit up when I showed her this thread; it has to get sold at that price though doesn't it? (There must be some wealthy boxing fans).

For sale at a certain price doesn't mean for a moment that anybody will buy it for that price....

Cash in on Judas Pig, mate. Kindles are ruining the day printed media will be worth anything. I got £70 for mine. Great book, too.

Pretty sure it was self published. It was a great read, clearly meticulously put together but it felt a bit dry at times...but it certainly had enough facts and info in there.

Feeling silly that I balked at the £18 price tag at the BunceLive show in Nottingham now....

Yep true that Micky, you'll still get the diehards who want the old medium but it's happened with the record industry apart from the really rare ones and comics too.
I keep telling my old man to flog his Led Zep album worth a 1.5 grand before no one wants them anymore.

Just make sure you store it properly.

vinyl is pretty impervious to the environment, unlike CD's and cassettes. of course keeping the covers dry and in good nick is a must for future value. strangely enough i checked my stack of old LP's last week and a mouse had obviously been nibbling away at an Alice Cooper album.

Mold spores are a major problem for old or incorrectly stored vinyl. It also spreads.

Storing vinyl in too damp or even too warm/dry conditions will also affect it. Not storing it upright and all manner of things which seem so inconsequential can/will also affect the potential value of it.

When it comes to records that are worth 100s or 1000s, condition is all important and can literally half the potential value or make it almost worthless.
