Does B-Hop now make it in to top 5 GOAT? I was never his biggest fan and people always say he spoils fights/dirty tactics etc to win. But isn't that just brilliant knowledge. He has to be one of the cleaverest fighters ever to use his tactics to win against young, hungry and unbeaten fighters time and time again despite being past it (people said he was past it 7/8 years ago)

OK, you may say Cloud was over-hyped/padded but Hopkins looked fast, had good head movement etc. Most 48 year olds start thinking about cardies and bus passes... B-Hop is a legend

I don't think anyone will deny his achievements or question his legendary status. But it still doesn't take away from the fact he is in dull fights. Fair play to him though, as he gets the job done more often than not. Put it this way, if he was fighting in my home town I wouldn't break my neck to get a ticket.

No, great fighter though and if people look back through history most of the greats were guilty of bending the rules to their advantage.

Nar, great fighter but don't think he deserves to be in that 'upper' echelon of fighters.

Not the greatest but probably a great. I don't think a 21 year old would be hailed as anything special if he outpointed Tavoris Cloud and Jean Pascal and was beaten widely by Chad Dawson.

A tremendous physical specimen, boring fighter, doing a good job of exposing the young modern boxers and their lack of technical knowhow.

Yes well done BHOP. But I really find you boring to watch and have never got excited by any of your fights. So not in the GOAT IMO

Does he eff, Cloud is a punchbag and it was a really predictable result.

Pascal, Pavlik, Tarver? He may be boring but I'm fascinated watching him. The subtle movements, tactics, everything from little head movements he is a genius. He takes away everybodys qualities

I'm sorry but if you weren't excited by Hopkins vs Trinidad, in the words of bunce, you are not a real boxing fan. at his age now he can't be in exciting fights, thats one of the reasons for his longevity. don't judge his career on his last 8 fights, although the Pavlik fight was a masterclass.
He'll be remembered as one of the greatest middleweights of all time.

That's my point. What he's done/doing is one of the greatest achivements of all time. He's defo one of the best middleweights of all time. He reigned as champ for 10 years between the usual non-primed aged of 30-40 then beat all odds to become LHW champ beaten unbeaten Pavlik who at the time was a P4P and Tarver and is now beating young champs

I think The Ring had him and Roy Jones Jr flitting between 1-2 between 2002-2005. His last period at the top was between May 2004 (when Jones got KO'd by Tarver) and July 2005 (when he lost to Jermain Taylor), after which he was replaced Floyd.

Must admit I'm one of those who is fascinated by Hopkins boxing mastery. Yes he can be dull but when he puts on a boxing clinic it's like viewing a masterpiece brush stroke by brush stroke.

B Hop is a legend full stop. I dont know how old you are, but you must be young saying what you have about 48 year olds. At 50 I took on a 20 year old who was breaking into our shop. In my 50s I beat up a 30 year old who did something to one of my grandaughters. OK it isnt boxing but I wasnt some old man like you are suggesting. Now I am 68 and still wearing jeans, no cardie or bus pass LOL. Hopkins has done what may never be repeated and is IMO a grandmaster of the sport, and how many could you say that about, less than 5 I would say.

Gotta say though iv seen Cloud a good few times now and although hes nothing special i expected a lot more from him ,he didnt even try to win and allowed Hopkins to bully him,Cloud never gave it 100% Much respect to Bernard though he`s` not the most pleasing on the eye to watch fight but credit where credits due it was HIM who made Tavoris Clouds arse faint
