Who wins the unification? Cervantes stops him late IMHO, likely on cuts. Too bad it never happened.

That's too bad, as that would've been far better than some of the other fights those two had. Wonder why it wasn't contemplated.

Arcari would have given a good account of himself. He was tough southpaw, but he would have been at a height disadvantage vs Cervantes and probably gotten slapped around a bit. I would go with Cervantes by UD

I think the '3' Latin Officials went a little 'Loco' in their judging.
Boxing News had it 146-143 (7-4-4) in Rounds.
Round 8 {2:00 Mark} the 5' 7" Challenger nailed Antonio with a wicked left hand and
a 'triple' right hook that shook him pretty good.
Lion was the aggressor thoughout the bout, and repeatedly caught Antonio
with straight left hand leads.
'Kid Pameble' landed more punches, but nothing hurt Lion.
A suggested rematch (in Japan) was put in play for 1974.
Why didn't it happen?

If you ever get a chance, check out the 'guns' on Lion Furuyama.
Lion was a beast with those biceps.
My point was they got him over there with the proper amount of money for Kadota, so why not for Furuyama?
