see the old fella lost to Helenius last week. Will that be the end or will he start mixing it at domestic level?

David Price needs a rebuilding type fight......

It's sad and frustrating watching Sprott sleepwalk through fights he could win. I hope he retires and finds a job he has more enthusiasm for.

hopefully the end. Do you really want to see him fight again? He's proved what he had to prove, had a great career and now it's time to stop (2 years ago, atleast). He will get hurt.

He didn't even really try against Helenius and then he only lost by about 5 rounds. He could have beaten Helenius. The odd round where Sprott would get slightly aggressive, he won.

They need to bring in someone who can motivate him. They should try a sports psychologist. Ronnie O'Sullivan said he wouldn't have won his 4th world title without using a sports psychologist. Sprott also looked too fat. He needs to be around 230. About a stone less than he was against Helenius.

If he can't get in better shape and get his head right he should retire. If he can get himself sorted out. His next fight should be against John McDermott for the English heavyweight title.

I think you'd have more success banging your head off a wall. Seriously, Sprott has been under performing for a decade or more. He is hardly the Ronnie O Sullivan of British boxing. Helenius is pure shite too.

It also showed Helenius's level for me .....but back to Sprott, he will do what he feels is right of course but even his corner on the night were saying things like....'thats it with me Michael we've done' that kind of comment.

Even they saw it was over.

Well said.With respect,I should imagine some of those posters have never been in the ring.Its not easy,especially at heavyweight.

His cornermen told him in no uncertain terms that its over for him and that was about round 7 of his fight vs helenius.

I suppose fights against Price, McDermott and Harrison etc are still possible but I'd like to see him call it a day.

What is that supposed to mean? He is a fucken heavyweight boxer, your always gonna have big guys tryin to hit you

Fact is, it doesn't take a giant to make Sprott über defensive and incredibly boring and frustrating to watch, does it?

Helenius is no great shakes, but I saw a moment in the 1st where he caught Sprott and you can see Michael's body language change.

Maybe helenius deserves more credit for making Sprott go into a shell.

You may be right but I never compared his achievements to Ronnie's. I just pointed out that a sports psychologist helped Ronnie perform to his best. Maybe one could help Sprott perform to his best. It's worth a shot surely?

Skelton Vs Sprott was an embarrassment. Sprott was literately laughing at Skelton for the entire fight. He did nothing, couldn't be bothered. He got a slap off his trainer that night iirc. As pointed out, Sprott just doesn't have any motivation.

A well motivated, lighter in shape Sprott, would have had a good chance of beating Helenius.

Has he not just lost his hunger due to numerous loses including some dubious decisions?

Is it not he has a sparring partner mentality now??
