Can't the Beeb afford to employ someone who knows what he is talking about?

Rumour has it that if you've heard of Muhammed Ali you can get a job as a boxing 'journalist' at the BBC.
However, if writing an article about him then it must be accompanied by a picture of Henry Cooper
Seriously though it obviously comes down to who you know, e.g., Old Boys Network member 1 asks OBN member 2's Oxbridge graduate son if they...
a- would like a £40000 salary?
b- know what shape a boxing ring is?
and if they answer yes to both questions they get the job.

I do wonder how these people get their jobs....I mean Steve Bunce, whilst sometimes heavily criticised, is definetly a boxing man, but who are the people who do the rest of the content for the site. There are so many excellent people to choose from, and they seem to have the most clueless buggers going.
