im just wondering why middleweight fighters
matthew macklin
martin murray
darren barker
have not fought each other, it's like going back to the 90's with the light middles all avoiding each other and going there own way, i mean look at them they are all 30 all british and have had around the same number of fights they would be massive fights in this country and a massive shame if these fighters did not fight each other, there are more fighters that could be included but ive just picked these 3 for starters what do you think

These fights, and the ones mentioned by DM, are bigger than any fight between a pair of them would be, and I think it's great they're facing the best of the division. If fights between them precluded them from taking the fights listed, I'm glad history is repeating itself.

Not forgetting Andy Lee

Macklin is made to order for Golovkin. I'd put money on a rnds 1-6 KO.

Lets hope not. I think the difference between this situation and the Light Middle situation is that I think 3 out of the 4 middle mentioned are geniune world class (sorry Andy Lee). I think given the right opponent, they could win a world title. I think Murray, Macklin and Barker would stand a terrific chance against Geale, and a decent chance against Quillan and maybe even Pirog (who I need to see more of).

These fights would be bigger with a world title bauble in there..... and yes, you could bring Andy Lee and BJ Saunders into the mix then also. You might even want to add the British based Proska into it also.

Sadly though, their names are being linked with Martinez and Golovkin, who are just a bit too good. One of them fight a lesser champion and then lets get it on.

None of the Light Middles were world class and they should have fought each other sooner.

I think the scenerio is similar to the Michael Brodie, Spencer Oliver, Patrick Mullings one a few years ago. Two world class guys, possibly capable of winning a world title - unfortunately it never happened for them.

Boxing is doing my head in. The only sport where the top competitors don't compete. It's like Manu Utd, City etc only playing 7th onwards. Remember the time when Hearns, Hagler, Duran, Leonard all fought? Serveral frecking times
