Has he jumped ship without anyone knowing?

Can't see FW being all that keen on one of his stable being on such a big card unless this was the case.

I thought they had parted company.

He made it pretty clear that Warren hadn't paid him on time. I'd be surprised if he was still with him.

I doubt FW will lose sleep over this and I am surprised Eddie wants him. I think FW did everything he could for him, a great job, and Kev just is not that good. Loads would beat him at Euro level. Prizefighter beckons for Mitchell.

Don't write him off just yet. A dedicated and active Mitchell can cause anyone problems on any given day.

I think he could win Prizefighter. A dedicated Mitchell caused Burns no problems whatsoever and then got his Mum to sack his trainer. I think Rees would beat him up too. Carl Johannesson should have done it first, the writing was on the wall way back then. The Murray fight was good, but Murray's lifestyle has come into question as much as Kev's In fact, he is a bit of a Manchester version of Kev!

I think Kevin wrote something about being in training for the May 25th card on his FB page. I'm pretty sure his contract with W@rren was up this week too so it may be safe to out 2 and 2 together. Still, has it been officially announced that he's a Matchroom boy yet? I can't see FW being over the moon either tbh as Kev was a ticket seller and that leaves FW with who? Cleverly and Chisora? Does Saunders sell? I think he would have rather hung onto Mitchell.

Not sure where that come from, I never said Matchroom needed ticket sellers for the 25th or that Saunders wasn't a prospect (although I think he needs to move down in weight to be a force). I also think Kev hasn't got much left but still think he could shift a few agaist Rees, Gethin, Matthews, Crolla etc.....

Kevin is a decent fighter, when he is on the back foot and using his brain.

Murray & Prescott proved this.

But when he is not focused, he is a different animal with a leaky defence and makes bad mistakes. It's been well reported that he has a lot of outside distractions from boxing, and ultimately this is the undoing of many a fighter.

Perhaps this is a new chapter for him, or he becomes the 'opponent' for pocket money.

We shall see.

mickey you say he turned a lot off against Katsidis, but i think he turned a lot back on against Murray. Against Burns he was outclassed - simple, but i agree with Insider, i still think he will be a draw against crolla, matthews, rees etc. I'm not his biggest fan by any stretch but i still reckon he can be in some exciting fights and sell tickets...'finished' is a bit strong i think.

It will probably be Rees for him and I think he will get hammered. Just my opinion.

If that fight happens i would agree with you, but if he can at least put on a good show and bring the 'Murray' game to the table, he would still sell tickets after that i reckon. Just my opinion also of course.

Kevin appears to have quite an unbalanced life out of the ring and so his level of inactivity must of have been a real problem. If Eddie can get him fighting regularly I believe he beats Rees and could win a world title. I hope they don't chuck him in with Rees too early.

Warm up then how about crolla or Matthews!

Really? I think he has proved beyond doubt he is not world level.

Kevin always has had a few cheerleaders. Does him more harm than good.

Good to see him back though. Hopefully he can keep busy.

Still think him and Rees will be a very close and good contest. It just cannot fail to be a good contest.

Although, still hope Mitchell could make Super Feather. The amount of times Burns hurt him (whilst Ricky's power has certainly improved as he fills into Lightweight, he is no Mike Tyson) was alarming. Never seemed to have a serious chin/strength issue at Super Feather.

I know I went abit ott in the build up to the burns fight, but there's no one else in the uk who could live with Mitchell on his day, I think his far from over !

I don't think Mitchell is finished at all. He won't be a world champ but he's still got a good few fights left in him.

You can look at this in 2 ways. Frank got Kevin the Katsidis fight at West Ham live on Sky. Masses of media coverage, 20,000 tickets sold etc etc and Kevin fucked it up. He then got him the Burns fight.

But both times, was Kevin ready for those fights. Prior to Katsidis his only world level fight was against Prescott, if you compare that to who Brook, Haye, Froch etc had faced prior to there world title fights it doesn't even compare, they had 3-4 fights against guys at Prescotts level. Going into the Burns fight he had 1 fight in 16 months against a relative journeyman in Felix Lora, hardly great preparation.

As long as Kevin isn't thrown into the fire this could be a good move. Fight in May, July, October & December this year.

May vs Martin Gethin for the British
July vs Derry Matthews
October vs Ermano Massili
December vs Gavin Rees

Come through that and you can start talking about world titles.

Still think he could boss the domestic scene - beats Mathews, Gethin, Crolla etc for me.

Him Vs Rees would be interesting.

Anything above Euro level though I can't see him succeeding.

As much as I like and support Kevin, he just isn't world class. When he fought Burns, there wasn't any excuses. He trained hard and was up for it; both the same in age, he just wasn't good enough. He just likes his beer too much. Again I'm a big fan of Kevins. I don't think he should retire though. I'd like to see him on 'Prizefighter' Maybe they (Frank) should part ways. It seems to me Warren has given up on Mitcell. Leaving Jimmy Tibbs and going back to his am trainer Paul Cook, is defly a big step back.
He should stick around the domestic level. He's a very popular fella, and would still sell a bucket of tickets.
