Good news that Channel 5 have picked up Tyson Fury Vs. Steve Cunningham live from the States. NBC are the home broadcaster with the show starting at 4pm Eastern Time. That means Fury Vs. Cunningham should be on Channel 5 around 10pm.

Sadly however the show clashes with 2 other events on the same night. Boxing fans also have the option to watch Brian Rose Vs. Joachim Alcine on SKY or Nathan Cleverly Vs. Robin Krasniqi on allegedly.

What show are people planning on watching live? I'm going to watch Fury Vs. Cunningham. I feel it's the right show to watch after recent stories suggesting Mick Hennessy and boxing are being dumped from the channel. There is only one way to show Channel 5 it would be a mistake to drop the only boxing on terrestrial TV........ by watching in large numbers.

At the risk of being a sycophant, I e-mailed Channel 5 on the below to thank them for picking up the show and keeping boxing free to air.

If you choose to watch the Fury fight, and enjoy the broadcast, dropping them an e-mail to tell them you enjoyed the show won't be the worst thing you've ever done

Alternatively the show should be on Demand 5 within 24 hours of the broadcast. Watch the show online and leave Channel 5 a nice comment. Actually I think most of their previous shows are still there to watch:

Great that they've picked this up, should be a very good fight, big step up for Fury.

You're well intentioned but a few peeps on here swearing an oath to Five for the night isn't going to sway the execs.
You may have more success with a Facebook page though. 'Keep boxing on Five and watch Brit Tyson Fury take on America single handidly ' stick a few you tube links to fights with Fury and Cunningham etc

well since i emailed C5 to complain about them stopping boxing i will deffo be watching fury and would have anyway i can record allegedly anyway. Ill also be telling everyone about the fight and advertise it on facebook.

Yeah, I know it ain't going to make much impact but it's worth a try. Sadly I'm not on Facebook, Twitter and I don't have a mobile phone! I'm not the most social creature. Here and Cable Forum are about the only 2 places I ever post on the internet. I like talking TV, and I like talking boxing. Very true. Lets hope BARB viewers take a sudden liking to Channel 5 boxing

There is only 2 ways we can really influence Channel 5. Channel 5 monitor all feedback they get from people regarding their programming be it e-mail, social media etc... They will also monitor Demand 5 viewings of the programming. So if people can't watch the live broadcast, and don't have a PVR like SKY+ or TiVo to record the show, they can catch the show the next day via Demand 5.

The e-mail I got back from Channel 5 did state:

"A detailed summary of all telephone calls and correspondence is distributed throughout the company daily."

Tyson Fury comes from a background in which when you make boasts you HAVE to back them up. So Fury is making his comments, not with a view to selling tickets, but for 2 reasons . Firstly he firmly believes them, and secondly it keeps him on edge to make sure he comes through on the day.
Personally , I like him. I think he would beat Haye and Price, and probably outpoint either Klitschko.

How comes this clashes with the Rose fight? Fury is fighting in America, not sure on the time differences so does this mean the Fury fight is happening early afternoon/evening?

Whilst there is no doubt he has improved massively, he effectively lost his first fight against John McDermott and has struggled in a few others since, looking extremely dodgy when hit with a big punch. Haye would knock him out early and Wlad would play safety first but wear him down and stop him imo.

I think i| remember reading that it was an afternoon fight in MSG, (smaller arena).

NBC are televising the show at 4pm Eastern time in the States.

Now Price has been exposed as being sponsered by Lladro, we now have to back Fury as our big white hope. Fury takes his digs, falls down and gets back up again, its what champions are made of!!
