What happens if Cunningham does a Thompson?

Cant really see it happening to be honest, i think Steve Cunninghams far too small (or Tyson Furys too big) but what would happen if he did catch Fury with one of them freak punches out of nothing like Tony Thompson landed on David Price, although every time i watch Thompson land that short right hook counter behind Prices ear, even though it caught him in the right spot,it still looks like it shouldnt have put him down let alone finish him but thats another arguement.
I was just thinking if Fury did get stopped by Cunningham who wasnt even that big a puncher down at Cruiserweight, where do we go with Heavyweight boxing in the UK?

A few years ago we were thriving with David Haye a world champ,Fury and Price making waves, now Prices chins been exposed,Tom Dallas has been KO,d a couple of times,Larry Olabamiwu and Dillian Whyte are banned,I dont know how Dereck Chisora will be now after being stopped decisively, lets face it as tough as John Mcdermott,Matt Skelton,Michael Sprott,Sam Sexton,Audley Harrison are no direspect but we know their level and I dont think Gary Cornish will even win a British title so where are we at? Me personally i think Fury wins on points and pushes on and Haye will take on from where he left off ,working away back to the Klitschkos and Price can come again providing he doesnt get hit but the rest i mentioned who were prospects a couple year back i cant see any of them reaching a world title oppurtunity, there is a lot of good fights there but just at domestic level

Fury is young enough to come again at world level. Haye is still in my world top three. As for the others we should be having some great domestic fights as the division is strong in depth unfortunately they dion't seem to be happening too often.

Na as i said above i cant see it happening although i never thought in a million years Thompson would do that to Price but i see Fury puting on a mature, controlled performance simalar to the Kevin Johnson fight then eventually stop Cunningham sometime after the 8th

No more boxing on c5 would be a dead cert.i think fury could taste the canvas but comes back & I think boxing wants & needs him & judges realise this so Cunningham won't have as much advantage.
I think fury will be too big especially if he boxes

He will try a lot more than Johnson, he will come to win.

Yup. He has zero power at HW. That is why he is fighting Fury.

I read an article on USS in the BN or BM about 6 or 7 years ago. Never seen him fight however, based on that article I think he beats Fury. It all depends on how athletic and strong he still is for me. The size difference is going to be marked.

No disrespect mate, but if your opinion is based purely on an article you read 6 or 7 years ago, about a man who is now 36 and in a completely different wieght class, I don't think your opinion holds much water

He may be put in with Price then after; Thompson wasn't thought to be a knock out merchant either was he?

Then again, Thompson is a genuine HW. Cunningham is a CW, moving up in weight. Big difference. Either way you look at it, this really is a poor match up. Cunningham is a 'name' opponent, significantly smaller, moving up in weight and lacking in genuine HW power. Nothing like the comparison with Thompson.

Baffled as to how you think a guy you've never seen fight can beat Fury based on a magazine article from over half a decade ago!

Are we forgetting that David Haye was a cruiserweight who went on to be a world champion heavyweight? Not many agree but I too think Cunningham will win this one, either SD or MD.

Dont think this is going to happen. There were always question marks about prices chin before the thompson fight but the punch that knocked him down seem very soft. And i really rate Price but i feel his chin will always leave him down when his in against top 10 opponents who can trade with him. Fury has shown he can go to war and has gotten off the canvas before, also i feel he has a better defense than price since he has started to train better. Everyone complained about Kevin Johnson not throwing enough but when he did throw more in the early rounds he found Fury a very difficult target to hit cleanly. I think Fury stops Cunningham mid to late rounds as he wont be able to take as much punishment as Johnson and will not be content just to try and survive the fight

because he sounds like business, whereas, although Fury has made improvements in strength, maturity, experience etc...I don't think he's as good a fighter. Fury has had massive weight and height advantages against just about every opponent. Don't get me wrong, I like him, but I think Cunningham is tougher and better, if he's still in shape I expect him to outbox and outwork the bigger man.

Hamed again and Mayweather on the same night probably.....I guess we'll see what we'll see. Like I say the size will probably be marked between these two fellas. Anyone that thinks a fighter like Fury would stand up to Cunningham if they were the same size would be nuts. Fury wins because he's bigger. When John so called McMuffin was completely outworking him and Fury was having little naps on John's shoulders it was his size that stopped him getting taken out. I predict that Cunningham will be the first man to negate that advantage, don't need to have seen him - I've seen Fury, that's enough.

Don`t worry boys. If Fury loses, Price get`s done again and Haye gets blown out by TBA, we still have Audley.

A Force is the future of British heavyweight domination. Can he do it? Course he can.

Get in the there big Aud, blow out this Wilder guy and the dream is alive. Redemption and destiny combined to deliver A force the championship of the World.

Never in the field of human conflict has one so scared achieved so much. He will fight them on the back foot, he will pepper them with jabs and he will NEVER surrender.
