Still only 26 he has a bout against Fernando David Saucedo, who - according to his record - looks like a tough boxer with limited power.

Has anyone seen Buckland live?

He's probably as good as Lee Meager was. He's domestic level.

I think he's probably a bit better than lee meager was. Solid domestic level fighter but he could still improve and progress to European level maybe.

x2, providing that Saucedo doesn't bash him up badly.

I like Buckland. All action fighter with a massive heart. He has a good chin but gets hit too often and together with his distinct lack of power will be his downfall when he steps up a few levels. European level is definitely within his capabilities.

I've never seen Saucedo fight but he has been in with some good ones despite a lot of record padding. On paper, it's a tough fight for Buckland.

I'd got the wrong end of the stick; I saw a Saucedo box a few weeks ago on a Vegas show and he looked sensational and was very young; just looked him up on the lists and the man I was thinking of was a welter so double

There is a Saucedo that has been on BN a few times he looks about 10. Went pro really young he looks pretty good. Probably the chap you are on about.

Buckland is much better than Meager. Just look at their records.

Got a feeling this will turn into an ugly fight to watch, Buckland may land enough clean punchers to win. But i think Saucedo will be to smart and spoil his way to a points win

That's him; I feared for Gary when I mistook he was boxing him; he does look about 10, proper deadly as well.

I think Gary Bucklands a vastly improving fighter who i thought would just be another tough guy big hearted fighter but he,s starting to get a bit of momentum going with his wins,i dont think they should be getting Liam Walsh ready for a world title tilt yet, they should put him in with Buckland in a British/Commonwealth unification fight,50-50 fight actually IMO

I've seen him like Lee Evans seriously!!! But Seen him fight Murray took some punishment very tough but looks solid and strong at his new weight seen him box Foster who I rate and he can punch but I grinder him down looked good on Hatton undercard great fighter to watch Buckland always get your money's worth!!

Alex Saucedo is one of the most promising youngsters out there, though he's not this Saucedo of course, I'd keep him on your watch list.

RE Buckland: He's a fighter likely to be hovering in or around the European level for a while. His rankings (top 15 by 3 of the orgs including 2 top 10 rankings) are generous but he'll likely get a world title shot one day and come up short.

Surprised by some of the comments here. I don't think Buckland gets enough credit.

Look at his record, only 8 of his 29 fights have been in Wales, the rest away from home, in his opponents back yard against Sykes and Foster Jr (his best wins), his two losses (Murphy and Murray) were with his opponents the home fighters too. He's had it extremely hard on the road compared to some boxers whilst fighting above the weight he should have been but that was because he could get no opportunities at super-feather. Take in to consideration his age, he's had 29 fights and he's only 26.

It wasn't until I saw Gary sparring that I appreciated his skills and movement, he's not the all action brawler that it's easy to assume he is. He's extremely tough and has that traveller mentality. If you spar Lee Selby without a headguard and just brave brawling then you will get hurt, so Gary has got to have skills!

I think Gary beats Saucedo on work rate. Gary throws a lot of shots and it's key to fighting a 32 year old with no real pop. If a final defence of his British against John Simpson (ordered by the board) goes well then hopefully he can finally get the Euro shot against Devis Boschiero. A lot of ifs and buts I know, I think Gary can win a European title and he has a ranking with a few world bodies so who knows, a world shot could happen, ideally in 2 years time. I'm not saying he'd dominate world level with the likes of Gamboa being the bosses of super-feather but Buckland's as good as domestic fighters come and he's done it the hard way, it's nice to see a boxer go the Welsh-Celtic-British-and-hopefully-beyond route.

Boschiero is one bloody good fighter himself and so to is Fegatelli.

I saw his third or fourth ever fight on the undercard of a bill Scott Dann was headlining in Plymouth. He was a very 'heathy' looking lightwelter then, but looked decent and I've tried to follow his career since. I'd agree that he's better than domestic - I'd say that he's probably a Euro level guy who may well come up short against the top guys.

I think he can be the best superfeatherweight in Europe. It's a pretty shallow division; I definitely think he could fight for a world title. Though as said, he's some way short of the highest level. I could see him giving one of the weaker champions such as Roman Martinez a tough night's work.
