Says he's coming back at super feather or lightweight!! I had to check the date for an April fools. He's only coming back for the money which is never good.
Didn't think he should have retired in the first place.
I always thought he'd be better around feather or super feather, good luck to him.

to be fair to him hes never been out of the gym since he retired so will be in tip top shape so why not carry on fighting? its not as iff hes been out for years!

I am not nearly as shocked as the Leicester newspaper. Rendall seems to blame his loss to Quigg on not been motivated at domestic level, sorry Rendall, it was because Quigg was far too good for you, just as Nishioka was at World level. I have never bought into the "lovely bloke" story with him and can well believe they did not want him back on the bins because of his attitude. I read an article on him once where he proudly states his kids have holes in their shoes "because I don't want them having everything handed to them on a plate"! Fair play, Rendall, but a pair of shoes is surely not too much to ask? I also think he treated Maloney very shabbily.

That's a bit harsh. Guy had to work hard and was a decent Euro champ. Not convinced the higher weights will work that well for him. He was a strength and pressure kind of guy.

He did do okay against Morris at Feather many moons ago - but at one stage he said he was going to move down to Bantam. So not sure what the move up is going to do.

I was thinking about what Munroe must be thinking of the form and title opportunity for Victor Terrazas (spelling) the guy Munroe outgunned in a WBC eliminator. Terrazas now has a pretty good chance of becoming a world champion. I hope one of the British boys get him over.

Not denying he was a decent Euro champ, but he seems convinced he is almost entitled to become a world champion when the truth is, he got his chance and got hammered by a guy who subsequently got hammered by one of the other titlists!

I know what you mean Mickey, but at the same time. I'm not sure I've seen a fighter who fought for so long at European title level and at the end of the day what shot does he get..... a shot at one of the stronger champions in his back yard.

Reminded me a bit of Clinton Woods before he fought Roy Jones. Both must have been thinking, "who else do I need to beat to get a shot at the title". At least Clinton got a lot more profile for his shot.

Plenty of less deserving fighters have got world title shots.... Munroe had a very hard ask and stagnated at EBU level.

If he does come back he should drop the Shinfields, I've never heard a word of good advice from them n the corner. "Throw more punches" "you've got to be busier" etc etc. always felt sorry for him between rounds.

This is the thing with Munroe. He doesn't have a big punch but he was able to bully and out-muscle smaller guys at Super-Bantam. Now that his opponents are going to be bigger to what he is used to, his normal boxing game will be ineffective, in my opinion. Moving up to lightweight is silly talk.

Always seems like a decent guy to me. On Facebook, if his status' are to be believed, and I've no doubt they are true, he is a fitness mahcine even since retiring.

Good luck to him! Whilst he may have shafted Maloney for Hatton, he got then got no breaks with Hatton and could have easily fought for a world title again. You could say it was karma but I believe he is a genuine guy so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

Terrazas hasn't even fought for the title yet, would Rendall have been able to wait until now and actually win that WBC title? I doubt he would have beaten Mares for example.

A lighter weight boxer needs to be active against decent opposition; Rendell was fantastically fit and very strong at the weight but his skills deteriorated through no fault of his own; I hope he can regain them but he weren't the most silky smooth operator. Hope he can earn a decent nest egg and set himself up in a viable business that he'll enjoy.

I thought the boxing binman had retired?... but im noticing he is 'out' again on the 12 may. any info anyone?

I like Rendall , but im not sure if coming back is the right decision here .
