I wonder if the slick Cuban can pull off an upset here, against the 2012 fighter of the year, Nonito Doniare.

Guillermo Rigondeaux: twice Gold medalist in the 2000 and 2004 Olympic Games, seven-time Cuban national champ, two-time amateur world champ, and claims an amateur record of 400 fights with twelve losses ( thanks Wiki ) ....so he's not too bad then DD

He won the WBA world whatever title in his 7th fight, so he's not been around the pros long, but he's got the look of a very cool vet, with a very sneaky left hand & right hook that should get Nonito's attention pretty early.

But Donaire sometimes looks like the hardest puncher in the sport, really knock em cold power, and he looks much bigger in the weigh in photos...but how about the rumours he crashes the weight in the final week - could the Cuban take advantage of the that ?
Donaire is around 2/5 at the bookies - they probably reckon his power will tell...but if the slick Cuban can hang in there, a points win looks a good bet.

It's going to be very interesting to see....tune in at 3am to find out

Reckon the Cuban can do it. He is a double Olympic champ after all.

I fancy Donaire to win a close but comfortable decision(116-112 roughly),i expect it to be nip n tuck first half of the fight then Donaires experience at the elite level to show but you can never write of Rigondeaux,he,s one of the most technically gifted boxers ive ever seen but sometimes tends to go through the motions but hopefully with an opponent such as Donaire in front of him he,ll bring his A-game then who knows :?? Could be fight of the year

Thing with the Cuban is that you don't know what his limits are. He's not been pushed yet. For all we know he could make it very one-sided.

I think donaire is going to surprise him early with a big shot which will take him out. 3rd or 4th round.

did somebody say you can get this thing without Sky? I've just got a digital TV.

I think the opposite could happen just as easily. Donaire does sound like a lethal puncher though.

Exactly, this is what top level boxing is all about. Two world class superstars levelling off to see who rules. Can't beat it

Yeah I was just looking down the schedule to see what other treats we have in store tonight and the undercard is frigging woeful.

I'm really up for this one as well. It's a true world class level fight.

Rigondeaux's left looks lethal, think he needs to go to the body, plus he's got a great chin which he will need.

Donaire will be looking to put on a show and just might get caught but you've got to side with him.

Let's hope it's a cracker!

Agree with both comments. As for undercard, might be unexciting, but hopefully we get a look at budding Puerto Rican superstar, 19 year old Felix Verdejo, currently 4-0 and fighting at 130. Just hope his bout is televised.

Havent been as excited about a fight in years. The two best fighters in the sport for me squaring off. Could be a repeat of Salvador Sanchez v Wilfredo Gomez with Rigo doing a number on the puncher. May the best man win. I cant split them. Boxing is the winner with this fight and well done to F rank Warren and allegedly for bringing this to the UK. This fight alsone has made me subscribe to allegedly.

I agree with all the comments above, this is a great fight. Two very special talents squaring off and something I wish we saw more often. A defeat for either won't be the end of the world and this could possibly the first of a series if the fight is close.
Don't know whether to record and watch in the morning or stay up...does anyone know an approximate ring walk for these two?

I think it shall be between 2.30-3.00am if previous NYC fights are anything to go by.

I think Rigo gets sparked out myself in the early rounds.

According to a reliable source (Gary Hyde) the ring entrance is scheduled at 4.15am UK time. The first bell is scheduled at approximately 4.25am UK time.
