Scott Quigg world champion?

Possibly the most forgotton aspect of Scott Quigg is that he is the current interim WBA world champion at Super Bantam.

Now with Rigendoux got the Super World Champion status - will Quigg be upgraded to "regular" world champion? Is there a current regular world champion.

It is quite astonishing that Britain could soon have a world champion (albeit a paper "proper" one), and he cannot get on TV. Even Brian Magee who was an even bigger paper champion got his fights on TV in some form or another.

He is the WBA interim champion as well as the British champion.

I wouldn't have thought the BBBofC would allow a fighter to hold both titles at the same time.

Why? In general, as long as you fulfil your mandatory obligations you can hold whatever belts you want, right?

I agree with you, but the BBBofC normally strips world champions of their British title. Maybe they have changed their policy.
